My girlfriend is a seller, and she was suspended yesterday for invalid contact info. She gotten a warning 2 days before, saying something in her contact info was invalid. I went over to her home that day, souble checked, everything IS accurate, her phone number, home address, all.

Well it got suspended for the reason of invalid contact info. Whats going on? I told her to email them, I want to help, how can I? Did a CS guy got lazy and didnt verify the phone number? She only has one line, so when she is on the net, the phone line would be busy, could that be the reason for it?

Is her mailbox or cache (sp) full? Maybe they can't contact her.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Maybe her security is set to high and won't let her eBay mail through. You would think that if something is wrong with contact information they would tell her what it is. Maybe someone tried to mail her and couldn't get through and reported her. I don't know who you would get in contact with but I certainly would find out and either call or email them.

Apparently one of her trading partners tried to contact her and the email bounced back. He reported her to Ebay and they made 3 attempts to email her and they bounced. That's when they sacked her. She needs to get an email account with Yahoo or Hotmail to register with before she even attempts to get reinstated because if her present email addy is no good, or she has too many domains blocked, she won't be able to use it for Ebay.

Ebay can easily verify an email address but not the other stuff unless it is an ebay's credit card info.

Hmm, well her email is a hotmail, and it hasnt been filled this week, so that cant be right...she only has one phone line, so when she gets online, her phone will have a busy signal, could that have caused it?

I had a similar suspension 3 weeks ago! My email said ""FIP NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension - Invalid email address" . Turns out that was a scam email. Forward the email to eBay Customer Support [[email protected]]. Let them know. They replied & reinstated my account. They actually called me on the phone to tell me that someone had stolen my password & to change it ASAP. So I did! I changed my password on all of my accounts. Try changing your password - maybe it has been stolen.

No I didn't give anyone my password! In the multitude of emails to eBay I included my phone number in one of them. No passwords were changed on the phone. They did call (I found it hard to believe) & they confirmed the phone call with an email confirmation. Hard to believe but true!

Does your girlfriend have an AOL account? If so, she needs to double check her email controls and see if possibly she has them set to block everything except certain domains. The email account I have attached to Vendio can only receive Email from AOL, Yahoo, Vendio (so they can send me my monthly statement) and Ebay (in case I ever post something brilliant on these boards and they need to contact me to see where to mail me a check). Anything else will not come through. I did this sometime back and had forgotten about it until you started this thread. She might have been upset about spam and went overboard in trying to block it.

somone may want to call her and find the phone line busy all the time,so report to ebay.
she should buy one of those gadgets which tells her there is an incoming call when she is online or get a second line.

It's sad when folks give their passwords & personal info to anyone who aks. It's sadder when they don't even know they did even after all is said and done.

Nope, she never gave her password to anyone, including me. # days later, not even a word from safeharbor, nor ebays! She did email that letter to spoof, but was returned, as undeliverable, due to they dont want to handle it or something. Shouldnt they have emailed her by now?

I find it ironic that the day she got NARU'ed, her feedback record was at....666!!! Could that been a bad omen?

All email sent to [email protected] will come back as undeliverable. It has to be forewarded to [email protected] for ebay to accept those emails. To forward an email you have to hit the foreward button rather than the send button.

"somone may want to call her and find the phone line busy all the time,so report to ebay."
To solve that problem I use Callwave, the internet answering machine. You have to pay the phone co. for perminant 'busy call forwarding' and a small fee to callwave for caller ID or more gives you more options. I love it and so do my family and friends. I can be lurking on Vendio (which I do everytime I am online) when a call comes in and get off line and return the call imediately or wait and call at my convenience. Well worth the few dollars it costs. 'Course it was free when I started and got hooked on it.

A busy signal on a phone line is not bad contact info. A disconnected number message from the phone company would be the only qualifing bad phone contact criteria.

There are at least 3 pieces of contact information. Why be a one-trick pony and only try to use the phone contact? What's wrong with using the email contact? That's the free one and the most important one.

most of us would not make it in the real retail world, hiding behind a pc and act like leona helmsley!!
a customer can use the phone, email or write.
if she chooses to use the phone over the other options, retailer should be able to accomodate her.
if you come to my restaurant to eat and i ran out of fork,i should say to you-here,use chopsticks, over 1 billion people use chopstick so why not you??
or if the women restroom is out of order, use the mens restroom, the toilet is made by the same company!
then you will pay me in indonesian rupiah and say-here take this ,money is money!!

The reason she uses a phone line is she has a old computer, which will not accept cable, plus her apartment wount allow cable access for computers. Anyway, I find it odd that its been past 72 hours, no reply, not even a acknowledgement of her emails, this is odd.
