Why in the heck do they do this. All I wanted to do is check on my auctions quickly. Log in, click on my ebay button and get error " The page cannot be displayed"

Can't access it from any where on ebay.

I have not been able to get it to work for me in about a month. It only works about one out of 5 or 6 times. Real pain in the eye ball.

Hello, shooting in the dark here but start by thinking cookies. Computer blocking good cookie, fire wall or virus protection system blocking cookies, router blocking cookies.

Will "my page" refresh?
Can you get there buy going to Ebay home page then to my page? Problem is local or this board would be flooded. (Mine is fine)

If you can go to another computer and log in and see if works. Place to start anyway.

Good luck
David

My Ebay works well for 2 things.
1)keeping track of my name.
2)keeping track of my address
Neither has been updated in 5 years.
For time sensitive information nothing beats the item pages.
"All I wanted to do is check on my auctions quickly"
Search by seller,last day and bookmark it whenever you want to check your auctions quickly it's 2 clicks away. And you are guaranteed that the information will be accurate.

Do you ever do a system clean up? If you are on a PC running windows, you can do a disk cleanup & wipe out all of tje cookies that have piled up. This may make your 'puter work better. The reason you are not getting into "My Ebay" is in your computer, not eBay's fault. I am not a cokmputer guru, but I run a systems check once a week & never have a problem with eBay.

paloma: Try it from Netscape, if you can. I'm using My feeBay right now with no problems.

I am not a bathtub full of brightly-colored machine tools on Vendio.

Yes, I cleaned the cookies, the pudding and the french bread out of my computer. *giggle* Seriously, I did all that and cleared the history. It's not the problem. It was Ebay at 1020am this morning Pacific time. It's fine now, of course. Don't need it now. It usually happens when there is alot of internet traffic or you would expect it. I guess ebay gets hit hard during that time and can't keep up.

Fluffy, thanks for the idea. I have tried that in the past. Going to netscape helps on very few occasions. I guess once I go back to work in a few weeks, I won't have to worry about hitting ebay first think inthe morning.

It just gets so darn frustrating. Oh well. It's over now. Until next time

I logged out of ebay last night and signed in the morning. Even trying to log in and clicking on sign in, I get the Invalid page thing again. After several attempts, I go to ebay's main page and it shows I am log in!
When I try to go to "my ebay" I still have the invalid page error again!

anyone else having this problem or is it just me this morning!

It could possibly be your ISP, if there is a lot of traffic, their servers may not be able to handle the load. I used to get hung up on MSN, but have never had a problem with DSL.

Paloma - have you ever noticed that you are the only person that has these problems with ebay with alarming frequency? Unless you are using a secret a buggy path to ebay that no one else uses, I really think it has something to do with your connection or your computer.
~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~
If it's really Common Sense, why do so few people actually have it?
Yeah, I think you're right. I tried Fluffy's advise and used Netscape. HA! Worked better than Internet Explorer. I am in the middle of update IE and windows. We'll see what happens after that. Thanks so much everyone
"....something to do with your connection or your computer."
You may of hit on something there. Mine did weird things and I sent it in (Under warranty) was the chip fan, didn't work so chip overheated.
If Norton cannot fix it is a hardware problem.
I hope you bought insurance (warranty) I just renewed mine for 176 for THREE years.
I don't believe in extended warranties on many items but my work computer is NOT one of those items.
You may see only an Ebay problem as that is near all you are looking at. There are enough options here on this thread to find the problem. Good luck.
