I switched to Andale when this site made it hard to use the photos in the posting-I can't understand EBAY endorsing them unless they own them-Most of the time I can't access the counters -they are non existant-EBAY says it is a common problem and they are fixing it-I am going to go back to using this site but I was just curious to know if anyone else had this problem-

I did notice when you list directly through Ebay, and choose the option for the Andale counter, it doesnt actually show up in the auctions anymore. You have to go Andale and open an account and then pull up your "counters" page. At first I thought I was missing something or not doing it right, but I think it was redesigned to direct you to the Andale website to snag you for their 'other services' as well as the 'free counter.'

The Andale free counters have always been quirky and yesterday they weren't working at all. I signed up for the Andale counter account a while ago to view the stats ( that rarely work completely or accurately work ) and I list through ebay and the counters still weren't showing yesterday or today ( they try to load but then fail ) I just tried to log onto my Andale free counter account and there is no place to enter already registered users IDs/PWS. Only a register button. Andale is the all time worst service ( and most expensive ) and it is beyond me how they ever got one million registered users unless they are almost all free counter accounts.

STAY-AWAY-FROM: Andale!

The counters be a scam to try & git ye to fall into their garbage service trap!

WHY pay these FOOLS to do what ye can learn to do on these boards for 1/1000th of their rip-off price?

The counters are free and the counter stats are free. The thing about third party services that I don't understand is the 10 cents an image charge. A penny is way too much.

LoL Ace, everybody's got to make their money somewhere....

I tried Andale's trial period. They were okay. They are all pretty much the same. What one offers the other doesnt and it kind of all balances out in the end. IMO.
I did like their research feature, though.

What I dont get is, Why isnt EBAY offering the counter for free w/o Andale? Isnt that how it used to be? Or is that counter patented or something by Andale?
Or does Ebay own a stake in Andale?

Ebay has had the free Andale counters for years now. I don't get it either. One, Andale is a big competitor of ebay for auction management stuff and I know ebay would be very happy if Andale went broke. Two, the counters are so worthless and slow and unreliable. Why doesn't ebay get it's own counters?

Only problem I seem to have with andale counters is they always seem to be on the high end. The counts seem to get high real early in an auction (I usually list for 7 days) when the listing will not be seen as much it would seem logical that it won't have tons of page views until the auction gets closer to it's end. I can see the first day getting a few looks as many bidders do look at the listed today auctions, but on days two and three should be some of the slowest page view days out there, when it seems to be one of the busiest. I just wonder if Andale pads the counts to make it appear that they are sending potential bidders you my auctions?
Just an observation.
