I hate this. A buyer purchased through Paypal and I thought the money was deposited. It's not. How do I get the money from Paypal.

You DON'T...

Sounds like yer buyer sent the moola to an incorrect email address!

Tell them to CANCEL the payment & then RE-SEND to your CORRECT email address!

Salgal48,

This would make a wonderful topic to discuss with your classes you teach about online auctions.

Sounds like some research is necessary, huh?

salgal - when you log into your PayPal account, there is a tab that says "request money" - click on that and follow the steps. It will send an email to your customer requesting payment, and will send you a copy also.

hope this helps

The transaction was "completed" as of 8/7 which was 5-6 days ago. The money still isn't in my account.

I absolutely hate paypal and in the future will request that payments be made fr Visa & MC accounts. This is ridiculous that you have to "withdraw" and transfer funds. Absolutely ridiculous.

Is there a way I can default so that the buyer pays by Visa/MC vs. paying through Paypal?

Salgal, your posts here are confusing. did the buyer pay through paypal and you want to transfer it your checking account? did you not receive the buyers payment in your account yet? do you want to invoice the buyer? what exactly are you having a problem with?

i have used Paypal for over 2 years with no problems whatsoever. (knock on wood). I have the debit card and when the money is in my account, I either use it to make purchases or withdraw it at an atm machine with my debit card. before the debit card I withdrew it by having it transferred to my savings...took 2 1/2 to 3 days...no problem.

That's correct. The buyer paid 8/7, the money is NOT in the account. it shows "completed". This is 5-6 days and I don't believe it's a problem with my bank. I don't have this problem with other sites.

The amazing thing to me here is that you actually have a merchant account that you can direct your buyers to that you do not use. Why are you using PayPal to begin with if you already have a merchant account and internet portal?

Here's the story.

"Doug" doesn't like Yahoo Direct. He prefers Paypal -- I guess he gets points or something. So he paid me through Paypal.
Now I can't find the money transferred to the bank. Am I supposed to verify something?

It states "completed" next to the transaction, but where's the money????? This may cause my bank account overdrawn. Since August 7? ? ? You telling me it takes almost 10 days to transfer money? ? ?

PLUS -- my account shows a balance of 16.83??? where did that come from ? ?? the transaction amount was 28.83.

I think Paypal is the WORST service. Deliver me from their service please.

Umm, ok.....
So "Doug" paid you with PayPal and it has been completed since Aug 7th.

PayPal doesnt automatically deposit this into your checking account, you have to tell them to.

'Completed' only means that the payment is now in your PAYPAL account, not your bank accout.

How do I do that? I've been all over Paypal and there is a balance of 16.83 in the account; the transaction amount was 30.00 minus their fees.

Salgal - have you ever considered researching services? Reading the help sections of the sites that you join? Finding out how things actually work before you degrade their service?

I am now dying to hear how you think that this Visa and Mastercard acceptance that you are going to opush your customers towards rather than PayPal usage works.

Yes, I went to Paypal Help and it was NO HELP. I would also like to know how I have 16.83 in the PP account when the transaction was 30.00? I wrote PP yesterday have yet to hear from them -- they are slooooowwwww.

Why balance of $16.83 if the transaction was $30 minus their fees?

Something is very wrong there. A $30 transaction could not have cost more than a couple of dollars to use Paypal. I think you are confused about what is in your account, where it came from and what to do with it.

I have used Paypal since the first week it started and was free. LOVE it. No Problems. But then, I offer a money back guarantee on auctions, refunded the one item someone said they received broke 3 years ago and have no complaints with customers or Paypal.

Go to you account
Hit the blue text hyperlink "All Activity" located above the table that shows your transactions.

The page you go to will show all activity that has occured on your account. This will allow you to figure out where the missing funds are. My suspicion is that you made a payment on something.

where did you see the word 'completed'??
is it on paypal site when you log on to your account??
can you click on it and see details??
if so,click on it and see what it said as to where it comes from and how much is paypal fee??
i think you dont know what you are talking about-mc/visa??
if you have your own merchant account, you can accept mc/visa transactions directly from your buyers without going thru paypal or yahoo paydirect or c2it or aol paydirect.
why dont you do some homework and understand more of ecommerce and ecommerce payment before you come griping about this and that??

Here is my account activity:

Aug 11, 2003 Payment To XXXX
Software LLC Completed Details -5.00 0.00 -5.00 16.83

Aug 10, 2003 Payment To XXXXX
Completed Details -7.00 0.00 -7.00 21.83

Aug 7, 2003 Payment From XXXXX
Completed Details 30.00 -1.17 28.83 28.83

The last one is the one I haven't received.
Also notice the first two show balances; that's what I can't understand. Whee the 16.83 came from?

Unless they took the money out of the $30 payment to me by the buyer. Could that be what happened? Instead of transferring it to my BANK ACCOUNT!!!!! THEY TOOK IT OUT OF PAYPAL ACCOUNT???????

I SEE WHAT HAPPENED. THEY HELD THE $30 IN THEIR ACCOUNT AND THEN WHEN I MADE TWO PP PAYMENTS TO OTHERS, THEY DEDUCTED IT FROM THE PP ACCOUNT, LIKE IT WAS A BANK ACCOUNT. THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANTED!!!! I wanted it to come from my Bank account.

How do I change that?????

Thousands upon thousands of PayPal users have no problems with the service day after day - the instructions are easy-to-follow &, essentially, self-explanatory, unless one is deliberately being obtuse.

Far easier & cheaper to use than BooHoo Indirect, with step-by-step instructions all over the place.

Reading IS fumbermendal!

Here's my problem, when they send the email confirmation they don't offer you a link that gives you options: "You can choose to keep the money in your account -- click here; or You can choose to have the money transferred to your bank -- click here." They don't do that in their email message to the seller.

They need to be aware that some sellers don't want the money sitting in PP. They want the money transferred.

I've got to get away from PP, this is ridiculous.

I'm sorry. I really don't say things like this often but you truly are a complete idiot.

You seem to be unaware that computers and companies do not read your mind and that each of them have different means of operation.

You sign up blindly for things, give them your name, your address, your credit card number and your bank account information and yet you never bother to take a few minutes to find out how the service works.

This is not PayPals fault. This is your ignorance. If you can't read a few lines to teach you how PayPal works how the hell do you think you are going to deal with a merchant account and the neccessary portal for usage. Or did you know that these things were needed in order to take Visa and Mastercard payments as you stated above you wanted to do.

You are a scam artists wet dream and until you take the time to learn what it is your are doing and the procedures of the companies you are entrusting your income to you should not be doing business.

Fenix you owe me an apology. This is my first year using Paypal, which happened because of a few buy-sell situations. Normally I use Yahoo Direct and/or go through Half.com, Amazon.com accounts.

In the future I will insist that the buyer (seller) use a visa/mc instead of paypal, because this is a headache to me.

salga,
you received 30 dollars and paypal deducts its fee and you made 2 payments ,so the bottomline is you have 16 somthing dollars left.
you dont have to be albert einstein to know that.
like my chicago polish boss once said-if i am not such a nice guy,i would jump over this table and beat the #*!@ out of you!!

Sal - I do not owe you jack. You have entrusted your personal financial information and access to your bank account to an online site whose means of operations you have never bothered to read or even try to comprehend. In this day and age, that makes you an idiot.

As for Accepting Visa and Mastercard payments... what merchant account company did you intend to use? What percentage are you giving up to them? Are you getting daily transfers or prescheduled? Are you leasing or purchasing the physical equipment or are you planning to do it entirely online? If online, what portal do you intend to use to enable secured online payments from your customers? Do you know ANYTHING about this process that you are so positive will be better than PayPal?

BTW - does your sales income justify the fees associated with a merchant account?

when I posted before, I did misunderstand what you were trying to say.

I think what you are trying to say now is that PayPal should automatically deposit each payment as it comes in to your checking account - is that what you are saying?

Now where is twelve with his new smilie when you need him?

Stop - although she was so upset over the $30 that wa not deposited into her bank account, did you notice that she was completely oblivious to the fact that funds for payments that she thought had been made from her bank account were not missing? That did no seem to upset her.

End of thread, thank you all.

Well I hope you read my post then because that is how you send money to your bank account - it is not automatic and PayPal will use your PP balance FIRST when you pay before it hits your bank account or credit card (which is why you only have $16 in there now).

"withdraw" is on the second level of tabs (the one that starts with "overview"
