I am trying to buy a widget on eBay. I've bid on two different auctions where the seller has zero feedback, and a bidder(also zero feedback) has run the price up to a point that I won't pay. I'm getting a little suspicious! Paranoid?
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I hate to bid against zero bidders where the seller has low or no feedback and usually won't do it at all. I hate having a hot auction of my own and then see a zero feedback bidder run up the bids on my auction.
The good part is the bid amount is now high but now you have to wonder if the zero feedback bidder didn't scare away the other bidders as a shill factor plus you have to deal with a newbie that will win your auction and possible dead beating.

It's scary but sometimes they really ARE two newbies that don't know any better and the winner actually pays.
A line from the movie Bruce Almighty with Jim Carey and Morgan Freeman applies in these rare cases.
It's Goood

Max,
My feelings are with you. Think it's shell bidding. Whether they know they cant do that or not is another story.

The main point in the whole thing is if you are not comfortable with this auction, move on. There are many more auctions out there to bid on.
