http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/aug2003/nf20030818_1844_db049.htm

and these figures from another board

Confirmed Registered Users - Cumulative confirmed registered users at the end of Q2-03 were a record 75.3 million, an increase of 6.5 million sequentially and a 51% increase over the 49.7 million users reported at the end of Q2-02.

Active Users - Active users, the number of users on the eBay platform who bid, bought or listed over the trailing twelve months, increased to 34.1 million, a 57% increase over the 21.8 million active users for the same period a year ago.
***********

By this figure, if accurate, then about 45.3% of ALL registered users (or ID's) have been active in the last 12 months.

Of course - what would the number be if they published "Unique" users?

You'll go far in this business with that knowledge base.

I wonder if she reads THESE boards? Says she reads the ebay boards and answers all her email to get a "pulse."

Sure would like to be in her shoes right now.
Nickel and dimming selling gone....

Ace, any articles on the history of ebay?
(I think I did see her on sixty minutes or one of those shows.)

I was watching a CNN interview report on leaders of industry or something about a month ago and they had a guy interviewing Meg. He said he wanted to auction a few things on ebay for a CNN charity fund. He had a special CNN logo fotball helmet, new in box, but Meg told him it was too mass produced and only worth $50 or so. Next he had some signed baseballs by the CNN ( maybe it was MS/NBC? ) reporters and Meg's eyes lit up. She said the balls with all the signatures was worth at least $5,000 . At the end of the report the guy had the result of the ebay auction for the signed balls and they went for a very high price but the top few bidders deadbeated and they finally got another bidder to pay a lot less than the high bid. That was reality ebay TV ... deadbeats.
I think she has staffers screen her emails and she actually reads only a select handful. Today, I took the plunge and emailed her anyway.

I seriously doubt Meg would ever look here or at the much larger OTWA ebay boards. I'm fairly certain that she looks the the ebay message boards on ebay.
