I am really pissed. My sister gave me a used Weight Watchers Starter Kit to sell, and I listed it. They pulled it today!! There was one other that was listed and went off at 25.00. Why didn't that one get pulled??

They make you pay about 80.00 for all this crap. Why cant I resell this as a used one?? My sister paid for it?

What am I missing here? Do I have any recourse? Feel like this is unconstitutional!!

There are over 700 items listed under a weight watchers search. Honestly, I know nothing about VeRO. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you.

Wow, I don't blame you for being angry. Maybe the other seller turned you in? That's one way to get the bids up on his/her auction. Just a guess, not an accusation.

Thanks Jack, I am in the process of doing just that!

But I found out you cannot list their slideruler fat/gram calculator thing, which comes with the starter kit! duh!
Tricks of the trade: One fattie a** is listing under 3 dif id's and she puts hers down as "bonus" without picturing it or mentioning it. I am doing the same. Bet it was her that turned my auction in. Several are listing stuff that is against the WW Vero or other stuff "you cannot resell". I am turning them in too.

How can they make you?

Could be that if the other person's listing was running the same time as yours, that they went thru the "disputing" vero process. It involves you filing some forms with ebay, and having them signed and notarized. The vero party then has about 7 days to respond to your claim. To respond, they actually have to file with the court, not just ebay. Most don't bother, but some big companies do. If they fail to file within the allotted time, you are free to sell the item/s in question without any retribution from ebay. There are a few other things to this, but that's pretty much how it's done. By the way, WW has been doing this for at least a year now, as I've seen others get their listings pulled for these as well.

Kiara: If you joined the weight watchers program, you pay about 80 dollars for everything in the starter kit and you cant really follow the program if you dont have the materials, right? Then they restrict which things you can actually resell.

Celebrity: I don't understand all that. I think it was just reported to ebay as violation of WW Vero's restrictions, which it was because of the slide ruler thing, but I didnt know that was restricted from resell on ebay, so my error there.

This fat/weight loss catagory is a big money maker! Brutal! It is way more competitive than collectables! I just combed 11 of 15 pages of listings, bids all over the place. I turned in about six who also were listing restricted items.

:;sigh:; now, I've spent my energy for negative -- I hate that!

(Kiara: See, what they MADE me do?) lol.

I don't understand the reasoning. You go to a program, buy their material at an inflated price, you quit the program will they buy it back. No!! Then why can't you sell what you bought. Doesn't seem right to me.

While there may be a contracural obligation not to re-sell by the actual purchaser of the "slide rule", if you're not the purchaser, it wouldn't apply to you.

There are many of these companies over reaching on these infringements.

Disney just had to back down from one seller who challenged them, and the same seller is actually suing Major League Baseball for damages for their VERO activities.

Weight Watchers, just as many others, are trying to squelch the re-sale market for their products.

edited to add- If you're not infringing, file a counter-notice form and then they'll have to go to court in your jurisdiction to stop the sale.

I've heard that Amway is very protective of it's sales materials on ebay and may be very similar to Weight Watchers with the Vero stuff. I guess it's all part of the game.

The whole Vero thing really confuses me
I had Shabby Chic in my title of an auction and it was deleted.

Gardenmartha - Go to the URL below and ready about Shabby Chic and why you can't use it. If you read it all there is another URL to go to about the person who vero'd it.
