I hate to keep cluttering up the board but now I need to know how to get some masking tape residue off the outter shell of a motorcycle helmet. I have tried EVERYTHING!

try Greased Lightning - it is wonderful! I use it to get price stickers off glass, plastic - you name it (even books) - and it removes all the residue...
edited to add: and it removed duct tape from some glass shelves when we moved (yeah, we had some real Eisteins moving us LOL)

Any type of oil will take it off. Put the oil on it and let it soak in for awhile and it will come off easily. You can use WD-40 , crisco, or motor oil it doesn't matter.

Nail polish remover.
@@@@@@
I know you probably didn't pay much for that; but you never know, it could be worth nothing.

Gasoline work great, I also use nail polish remover, but you have to be a bit careful on some things as it removes the color.

Try GOO-GONE. You can find it at your local Wal-Mart store. It removes grease, stickers, tar, gum, crayon & tape. I use it all the time and it works for me.

Goo-Gone is a good product, but heavy on the smell... If you are the lest bit sensitive, I wouldn't use it.
