I have an RCA AM/FM Weather Radio with a 5" black and white tv at the side. Also has digital alarm clock. This is not a hand held one, it is table top. also runs on 9 c size batteries.

I would like to list this, but cannot find any info as to year it was made, etc.

the label on the back says it was made in Taiwan for the RCA corp. the only number, beside the FCC number, is 28129342. I cannot find, inside or out, where it actually says model number.

I have searched ebay in about a dozen different ways and the internet but cannot find it.

any suggestions here?

If the FCC number is a type acceptance number, you can go to the FCC web site and look up the date it was issued. Production usually started 24 hours after it was issued.

rarrifle,
http://antiqueradio.org/rca09.htm

This page tells what the lettering and numbering means for the years.

In the 1957-1959 model years this scheme was modified with
a fourth digit indicating the cabinet finish. Thanks to Ed
Reitan (http://www.novia.net/~ereitan/), I found out that
0 was cherry (as in your 14" set), 2 ebony (a.k.a. black),
4 was maple, 5 was mahogany, 6 was walnut, 7 was either
blonde or limed oak, 8 was bleached birch and 9 was maple
or light cherry. In the 1960 model year this was modified
to put the year digit before the letters, and a different
set of letter codes were used; starting in the 1961 model
year the letter codes were changed again to the same system
RCA uses today, as follows:

A B&W portable
B B&W table model
C B&W console
D B&W combination
E color portable
F color table model
G color console
H color combination
I B&W Service Company model (for hotels, schools, hospitals, etc.)
J color Service Company model

Rariffle,
Oh, I thought maybe those numbers with the lettering might be the model number?

Roadsmith: Thanks, but I've got a long way to go compared to most on this board. I spend so much time rolling round search engines - usually NOT finding what I need, but glad I could post something somebody might find useful .

i have added both of the links here to my favorites...i have sold quite a few vintage radios over the last 3 years and could have really used that info.

neroter12, I am going to find that model number today. it has to be there. and now, thanks to you, I will know what it is telling me.

Well, FCC didn't work. Even called the FCC and a very helpful young man searched for 15 minutes and could not find the number on the item.

my next step is to call RCA Corporation and ask for their help.
