I secretly work for ebay and they pay me thousands of dollars a month. Each time I'm a cheerleader on these boards they double my pay. The workers on ebay are known as "pinks" but on these boards they are all undercover and known as "cheerleader pinks".

Be wary of the camouflage one who only flashes pink once in awhile.

Do you really think that posters like Cheryl and Tom are that lucky to find those items they brag about here and do you really think normal ebayers make that kind of money selling those items?

dbest, the conspiracy is much deeper than you will ever know.

Since davebraun came clean and confessed I guess I'll go next. I'm really Pierre Omidyar and I started ebay in my Campbell, California apartment in 1995.

Well, I've got to confess. I'm the Vice President of Information Technology. It's my job to keep the servers running smoothly and implement the new enhancements that everyone seems to love. The toughest part of the job is trying to determine what time of evening to disable the search and bidding features of Ebay when we introduce a new enhancement. I gather from the tidbits of information I've seen on this forum that Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. causes the least amount of inconvenience for everyone, so we'll keep it at that time for now until we gather more information in our next survey.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Because I have so many shares

actually, about 4 or 5 years ago, some local that bought something from me came to my home to pick up their item, and told me all about their 'ebay' job as a customer service rep [a.k.a. 'pink'] on the ebay discussion boards ... she lived in Akron and told me how she used to sell on ebay, mens and womens quality/namebrand suits and clothing she would find at Goodwill, etc ... then she would visit/hang-out on the ebay discussion boards at least once a day to interact with others, and was often helping answer peoples questions ... she says ebay contacted her because of that, and asked her if she would "work" for them from her home ... her "shift" was somethin' like 8p.m. till 1a.m., and she'd put her kiddies down to bed and log on and answer CS questions ...

I don't think ebay approaches people in that way anymore, since they set up the CS HQ in colorado [?---i think that's where it is?] ... anyway, i thought it was pretty interesting at the time, but no way would i ever want that job. LOL .....

Utah. eBay operates a call center in Draper, Utah. Staffing was once projected to be as many as 600 people; don't know if they've reached that level. It's surprisingly hard to find good help in Utah.

There's a new center in Germany. The Ireland proposed center may never see the light of day. No Mexico center.

Only Pierre would know this stuff.
