heard on Kovel show yesterday to be very careful of any Nippon where the gold is very bright. recent reproductions are being sold with the Nippon mark.

raff------

I doubt that this is new, but guess it could be. The estate sale where I bought this the woman bought things and never took them out of the box. This does look old and it is porcelain, but that doesn't mean either. There are experts out there on the board who will let me know I'm sure.

Your mark is Royal Crockery and was used since 1911.

Here is a great site with Nippon reproductions and fakes.

Thanks Kiara. The name of the company doesn't sound very collectible does it? The bowl is pretty though. I found another auction on ebay for a similar bowl with the same mark but the seller didn't mention the company name. My bowl is much prettier but I will watch the other to see how it does.
Thanks again!

I think most buyers will be looking for Nippon and will buy it for that reason and not for the RC mark.

It's pretty so I hope you do well with it. Many of these pieces do much better in a brick and mortar store or antique mall than ebay.
