I know this is beating a dead horse into the ground but I am in the process of listing a very unique Sterling Silver Charm bracelet and where or where do I list it. Ebay has really screwed everything up and if they don't like keyword spamming then they had better revise the jewelry catagory back to the original setting. I can't believe they gave a separate catagory for those italian Charm bracelets that have just been around for about a year or so and something as old as my charm bracelet doesn't have a home....
Where do I write, of course they won't listen but I can vent to them...

I am not going to delet this post because it just goes to show you if you spend enough time searching like I did, but didn't find it, someone has an answer and I thank them.

Starting a champagne might be a more productive endeavour.

Using a spell check is highly recommended.

Well horsey. I want to thank you for correcting me but it wasn't necessary. I used the spell checker. So you tell me. I think that was rather uncalled for. this is a discussion board not a spelling class.

Hi Libra,

I feel your pain. Come to relist some items this morning and SYI is "interestingly" (in the Chinese sense) broken in some places again.

I've given up asking why eBay won't leave well enough alone.

This is why I gave up a couple years ago caring what category my stuff was listed in. It just doesn't matter. If folks are category-surfing, odds are they won't find it today anyway. My regulars bring up my seller list, the newbies bring up a list ranked by opening price (1 cent being at the top), so who needs stinkin' categories?

The answer is that eBAY needs the categories, not us. Ever notice those marketing links on the home page? (Like experienced eBayers even look at the home page.)

It's lovely here in Vancouver today....what I can see of it.

I gave up on the importance of categories a long time ago too. The buyers that are only searching in one set category are dinosaurs. If the buyers want your item they will find it. I can't imagine spending several minutes deciding which category to list an item in.

Ebay creates more and more categories for one reason and one reason only, greed. A LOT of ebay auctions are double category listings and that's a double listing fee and a higher auctions count for shareholders to see. More menu items in the ebay restaurant.

I agree with Fluffy. I don't care what catagory my items are listed in anymore. I used to care, and the buyers wouldn't read or pay attention to anything anyway.

So yer saying I can list a pair of boxing golves in,,,,,,,,,,,,home appliances and it means nothing? What I mean is I am wasting my time with this cat. thing? Just hit the first one that pops up on Vendio when you go to list? Vendio made it such a pain when they made us pick a cat. and THEN go look at our pictures to see what we wanted to sell. Take myself as exampe, I want boxing gloves I just search boxing gloves. I have NEVER done a cat. search. But won't a bunch of idiots be e mailing me that I am in the wrong cat?

Yes, it will generate a lot of emails, Jack. I once listed a mantle clock in the beer stein category. The first clue I had as to the mistake was half a dozen emails in my in box the next morning.

You got to get it fairly close or ebay may move the listing for you. The new 'search for a category' search engine works great and in a few seconds you can see where the other sellers listed the item you want to sell.
