I found myself with a neg on Sunday (again, another neg on Sunday, but that is another thread) - Says they contacted me 3 times, and I did not respond. Since I never received any communication from the buyer, I returned the favor. Then, a few days later, I got an email reporting a problem with the transaction. It arrived on September 10, and was sent by the buyer on September 1! Then today, I get two more emails through ebay contacting the seller, again about 10 days late! I contacted the buyer, and made good on the problem. He expressed regret for leaving the neg, but I told him it was not his fault, because from his perspective I was not responding, and from my perspective he was not communicating.

All negs should be removed if buyer and seller have settled their dispute. Like where was anyone hurt if the dispute was settled. Most buyers lie when they give negs anyway. Just look how some buyers act on this board.

Well, here it is officially:

Help Desk » Email Communication Between Buyers and Sellers

August 28 - September 11, 2003

We recently discovered that some email communications between Buyers and Sellers were not being forwarded in a timely fashion. This problem was seen intermittently in communications between August 28 and September 10. The problem has now been fixed and all lapsed communications were sent on September 11.

How do I know if my communication might have been affected?

While we cannot be sure if your communication might have been affected, if you experienced a lack of response from a particular Seller when contacting them, it is likely your communication was delayed. If you are a Seller and have noticed a much lower amount of buyer inquiries than usual, it is likely some of these inquiries were delayed.

If I am a Buyer, what should I do?

If you attempted to communicate with a Seller during the affected time period (by using the Contact the Seller button in the My Purchases area of your account) this email may not have been sent by the Half.com system until September 11. Please be patient with the Sellers as they have just received their emails and it may take them a little time to respond. You should not need to resubmit a new inquiry as all original submissions will have been sent by September 11. However, if you still have not received a response from the Seller by September 17, you may want to re-submit your communication to ensure the Seller addresses your concerns.

If I am a Seller, what should I do?

If you are a Seller who has had one of the Communication Emails from a Buyer delayed, you would have received it on September 11th. You should try to respond to the buyers as quickly as possible. We suggest that you let the Buyer know that you just received the question from Half.com, and work to answer them in a timely fashion.

We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

The Half.com by eBay Team

"and if we have already exchanged nedative feedback, what should we do?"
In that case you are SOL.
We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused. Thank you for your patience. You are screwed anyway.

Keep after eBay about the negs that were exchanged due to their problem.

Maybe if you & the buyer work together & gang up on them they will remove it.
I would give it a try.

Thanks, I did email them about it, and hope it gets removed. I think they definitely should remove that one!
