We're encountering a new problem with customer communications. It seems to have become a significant issue since Blaster & SoBig were going around. Several ISPs are blocking emails unless you "add" yourself to the recipient's email list (examples are Maxemail and Quik.com, but there have been others). We're getting emails from these ISPs telling us our email is blocked until we go to a particular website and verify our email address.
First of all, many of them don't identify the intended recipient. We're NOT going to "add" ourselves to anything, when we don't know what the heck we're clicking on.
Secondly, for those that are identified, it's becoming time consuming.
Our products are customized, so our auctions tend to have quite a bit of post-sale communication. We have a couple of sales where the customers haven't provided the details we need, and since they're not replying, we believe they're not getting our emails. We've had to send snail mail communication to the shipping address.
In addition to being a hassle, this has the potential of generating negs for lack of communication. Anyone else encountering this, and has anyone put notices about it in their auctions?

I have received quite a few already. I believe another one that is doing it is earthnet. So far I've been "adding" myself if it's important. If it's just a "I've shipped it email" then I don't bother. If it's something else then I add myself and just put regarding ebay in the area where they require what the email is about.

I've had similar problems with Pay Pal etc. (Not receiving e-mails) I now send e-mails typed from scratch so no spam filter etc will delete me (I hope). It is getting slowly worse and such outfits as Pay Pal will not adjust so their e-mails are less important. Sooner or later adjustments will be necessary. That said the Internet is not a stable platform, never has been and I doubt it ever will be. Kind regards to all.

Had the same problem yesterday with a buyer of mine.
I got an email from spam blocker Earthlink and had to add my name to the list to request that she add me to her address book!
