weeks ago we have a discussion going on how soon are we supposed to ship after receiving payment notification from paypal.
paypal said ship promptly = 7 days.
on another forum,a shopowner sold some items to an aussie customer and both agreed that shipping surface mail is the most eocomical way to go.(he accepted credit card thru his merchant account)
well, one week after the item was shipped, the customer filed chargeback and won-reason??
SHE DID NOT RECEIVED THE ITEM and her credit card company sided with her,she should get her item in one week??
how about that??
shopowner lost not just the merchandise, but lost on shipping and chargeback fee.

Money order, Bidpay or check solves the chargeback problem.
I promise next day shipping with money order or Bidpay.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I doubt that scenario. Why? 15+ years in credit cards. No CC co worth it's salt will do a chargeback for non-receipt before 30 days from the charge. Why? Because that's what Visa and MC rules require. It would automatically be re-presented and the buyer's CC Co. pays a fee. Plus if he sent it and can prove it, receipt and e-mails agreeing to surface mail, all he has to do is contact his CC co. to re-present the charge to the customer's bank. This stuff happens all of the time and is nothing out of day to day operations for any CC co..

unfortunately, you do not work for a credit card issuer in australia.
this is not auction so bidpay wont work,it is a website which accepts credit card.

Both Visa and MasterCard operate under internatioal regulations. The rules are the same everywhere. And I have personally done foreign chargebacks all over the world, includig Australia.
