I'll pass on that one also. 99 cents is way to low for me to even bother listing anything. Most of my items only appeal to one specific buyer with few bidding wars involved.
Besides, what's with the new way of doing things like "you'll see your credit by Mid November". That means, you have to pay your bill for October at full fees and then get a credit issued after the fact.

I'm going to try two things I was going to put in the box to go to live auction. Who knows? But I'm not going to jump on it like penny gallery. For most of my stuff .99 is just too much of a gamble.

I've got a great idea. I'll take that .99 cents, add a penny and buy a California lottery ticket. I'll still have my item I was going to list an have a hell of a lot better chance of making a profit off the lottery ticket.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

As Dr. Phil would say, "Ebay, WHAT were you THINKIN'?"

Hi everybody,
Wait a minute...
No need to start at 99 cents...
Get your items really cheap, start them at a penny and make your profit on shipping. You know, charge a few bucks and ship for maybe $0.60. Even your listing fees are covered if you charge, oh, say $4.00 per item. No possibility of combined shipping, though, you'd lose your shirt if you did that.
Of course, unless you do a big volume, a couple of bucks per listing is hardly worth the trouble since cheap stuff is, after all, cheap stuff and will generally only sell for a cheap price. Still, I guess a quarter is better than a penny.

Didn't the seller with the 6" x 8" tile try that with the penny start bid and the $25 s/h ( that was apparently okay by ebay )?
There were no bids on that auction but maybe the seller got greedy with the $25 s/h and should have gone only with a $15 s/h?

This is another indication of the failure of ebay to attract collectables which has gone down in recent years. You can always tell when the end of ebay has begun when they start with these rediculous promotions. Why don't they have a real FLD maybe several times a year? That would be a way to promote business.

I agree - this is lame! I vowed after trying the .99 listings last year (though wasn't it FREE list last year?)to NEVER EVER do that again!!
Many of my items sold for just $.99..some didn't even sell! Total waste of time and definite money loser by the time everyone (especially PayPal - and I even said NO PAYPAL ) got their pound of flesh.

I have a ton of Vauum tubes that fit the collectible category. I bought over 200 at an estate sale this past weekend, Maybe I should list them singly @99cents, charge
$5.00 shipping & handling with no combine shipping charges. My guess is that I wouldn't sell a single one.
