I don't have a lot of NPB's under my belt yet (thank God!) and I forgot how "easy" it is to file the appropriate notices and do something about it. It's no wonder everyone who treats eBay as a sales channel has given up on getting any support.
I used the goofy form to report bad contact information on one buyer and where it says: "Enter User ID" - I entered my own - because we're conditioned to do that each time we enter eBay, etc.
I also described the problem, the e-mail was bad, etc. and that their phone was always busy - from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. - and wanted eBay to check for themselves. I also entered the auction # we're involved in, for further validation. I was doing this to possibly speed up the wait period - hoping that the bad contact report would get them booted faster and then I could file for the FVF.
Then, I get a copy of the e-mail sent to me and it reads: Reported UserID - (my user ID).
Auuugghhhh!!!
I reported myself! LiveHelp suggested I explain it all using the form... The same one that had the screwy "Enter User ID" field. So, this time I entered her User ID - just to make sure we were covered!
I think I'm just going to do the NPB and FVF next time and just wait it out.

Wayne,
Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed. But don't feel bad, I'm sure you're not the only hapless seller who has reported themselves.

If your email is good they just ignore the request for investigation. There must be a lot of what you did happen at ebay.

Our daughter and her husband both work in Silicon Valley and are real computer gurus. When I was first learning to list on ebay and to edit photos, they helped me a lot. And they kept saying how "counter-intuitive" ebay and my photo editing program were. What makes sense to us mortals just doesn't figure in when these companies are creating their monsters for us all.
