Hello everyone,
I need some advice/help on removing Spyware from my computer.
I've downloaded a program (Spybot) to help in the detection and destruction of Spyware programs/files on my computer but there are still some that keep poping up. One of them is called "Alset".
When I try to delete the Alset program, it states that it is "being used or is write protected".
I guess the major question is this....how do I delete a program that is write protected?

The quick, dirty way to do it would be to find the path to alset.* and drop to DOS and use the attrib command to get rid of the write protect attribute. I'm sure there must be an easier way that someone can weigh in with. As soon as you get rid of it, be sure to use the program to immunize your computer against it so it doesn't come back.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
Download install and run the Hijack this tool. Read and follow directions and you can probably just fix it with this. If not, you can go over here to spyware info and ask, but you will still have to post the Hijack this log for them. Usually I can search the forum and compare my hijack this log with what others have posted. They will tell you to click on certain BHO's and use the "fix it" button on Hijack this.
Did you also install the JavaCools software that BLOCKS the cookies that allows this? It runs within Spybot and it has a huge huge list of cookies and scumware that it will not allow it to be loaded onto your computer. Do so if you haven't.

another way is to go into your task manager and stop all processes you don't recognize or you may actually see it.
