Just wondering how hard it was, and if it made a difference for you. I'm on 4.79 and can't post replies here in Ebay Outlook (or anywhere on Vendio) now. Moderator suggests, and so does my husband, that I upgrade to 7.0. Have you done so? Did it help? Any glitches or problems?

I've been running 7.1 since it came out. I upgraded because I thought 7.0 was buggy. I do remember that the problem was e-mail related. It's been fine but you may have to tune your Norton's.

Netscape 7.1 is a giant step from the 4 series. It's almost a completely different browser. There are so many cool options, you really should give it a try.

I don't remember all the things that were different... there is keywords for the bookmarks. For instance... I use ebay as the keyword for my ebay page, and y for yahoo. If I type "y" then enter into the address bar, it takes me right to yahoo. This is a great timesaver.

It can remember your passwords... there are more options in the email program (like color coding emails)... you can create your own toolbar below the address bar... you can open multiples page inside one window and there are tabs to switch between them ...

I would give 7.1 a great big thumbs up! And I have had very few problems with it, it doesn't crash like the old netscapes used to for me. I only restart my computer once every couple weeks, if that often.

Netscape 7.1 also has a popup stopper built into it and the email program includes the advanced capibility for email filters & spam.

Paloma: I'm on a PC

Bear: We would upgrade to 7.1, and seeing it on my husband's computer has convinced me. We'll take the plunge tomorrow. (I really like some of those features you mentioned, so, kicking and screaming, here I go!)

Roadsmith, good luck. I liked Netscape 4.79 & 7.1 does take some getting used to, so don't give up. Another thing I have finally gotten used to in 7.1 is it's ability to open multiple tabs for different pages rather that opening a entirely new browser.
