You guys read this and tell me if I am being shammed:

(It was for a $3.00 cookbook! I already gave this guy 30 days.)

I have sent you 2 emails through this ebay system letting you know that my wife
had lost her job and that our income had been cut by over $800. I have also made
arrangements to pay you on the 25th. I have made every effort to work with you.
Why did you file an NPB? I won over 200 auctions and paid for them all, Why
would I not pay you? Since you never emailed me and there were no bounced
emails, I thought that we were working together. Due to an error by time life
music and 1 other bidder I am now locked out of ebay indefinatly. I was learning
ebay to help support my family. Please have a heart. As I stated in my last
email I am willing to pay you for all of your fees in addition to winning bid &
S/H charges if you work with me. What else can I do? Since I am locked out of
the system please send a response direct to me at [email protected]. Please
cancel this action so that I have had good communication and follow up with you.
Please cancel this action and give me a chance to survive.

XXXX buyer

Well I would give him another chance. It won't hurt you. You can reverse that FVF and see what happens. You arem't out alot of money but then any amount is income. The email sounds that he is trying to get himself out of a problem. Give it a try...

The buyer can easily set up another ebay account if they wanted to do so.

It sounds like this buyer needs to stay away from the computer for a while. It doesn't matter if it's a $3 cookbook or a $300 necklace, if the buyer can not pay they need to stop visiting ebay.

Is he really NARU? Or is he still bidding?

Fluffy's horseback rule of human relations: An appeal to one's finer feelings is almost invariably a cynical attempt to get the better of you.

Please have a heart.

had he sent you those emails that he speaks of?
An awful lot of people HAVE lost their jobs, it's pretty believable.

yeah, you know I wasnt going to file the NPB..was going to wait. Then got to reading some posts on here and just felt like getting it over with already. I know people have lost their jobs, etc. and some may have bought before the ax fell or whatever. I think I will tell him when he makes payment I will reverse the NPB. I'm just not in the mood to be generous today.

Jens: I dont know. Low on energy and I am not checking up on him. Not worth it for 3 bucks, ya know?

Yeah, I know the feeling. I think your strategy is sound. Removing it before payment gives him no incentive to pay.

I had the same thing with one of my problem international bidders. My NPB got him NARU'd so he sent me a whining email saying he had addressed the envelope wrong and it was returned to him and he would send it out today airmail if I would just remove the NPB.

I told him if the payment was received in 10 days it would be removed. If not, it would stay. He said it takes at least 14 days for anything to get to the states airmail. I am tired of messing with them so I told him to use International priority if he really wanted to save himself.

He said he would mail it immediately. 10 days later, no money so guess he was just hoping I would be easy on him.

I'm tired of messing with them all. For 4 years I waited and waited. Now, in 10 days a reminder is sent. In 14 days a formal reminder through Ebay and 10 days later NPB and move on.

I don't even send reminders anymore. The NPB email is reminder enough. Most pay almost immediately after getting it, and for those who don't, I don't have to wait any longer than another ten days. I do wait 14 days before filing though. That's a total of 24 days, and that's plenty long enough. I just don't have the time or patience to beg for payment anymore.

I agree with everyone else..tell him to send payment and you'll be happy to retract the fvf.

I don't send reminders anymore either. They get a notice from ebay and a notice from me and that's it.
