Mark Your Calendar!! Our fire season has ended on the Central Coast. Mother Nature has been spreading fire retardent all day long!!! It was raining & snowing at Big Bear this morning. Now the worry is mud slides.

It rained and even hailed a bit here in the Bay Area today but the ground in so dry that the adobe hardpan soil takes a lot of rain to really saturate. The fire danger will soon be over here as the rain should be much more frequent than the almost totally dry May to September period.

Oh yay, me too! In the San Jacinto Mountains here, in So. Calif., we had dense fog, then light Portland-style drizzle, then snow flurries, then a little rain. Never got above 39 degrees today, either, and our peaks are snow-dusted.
I think it would be great if we had a state holiday in California for the end of the fire season. We could celebrate in very interesting ways.

It started raining quite heavily here in Visalia about 2:45 this afternoon. It was snowing in the Mountains East of us. It was interesting watching the storm come in from the north and west on weather radar. It was also interesting to see some very wet clouds in the vicinity of San Bernardino.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

It lightly rained here all Halloween night off and on. Just enough to get everything wet. Not too much as to dampen the trick or treaters. What was really a Halloween experience was when I took my little guy out trick or treating and we had a bit of thunder and lightening!
