"I'm so happy to have won this auction. I'll put a check in the mail tomorrow."

"Is it all right if I wait until I get paid next week before I send you a check?"

"I'm going out of town on a business trip but will send you a check when I get back."

"I used PayPal to pay for this. I use PayPal to pay for everything." (Yes, but that doesn't mean you actually pay for everything.)

(In response to an NPB) "I sent you a check. You mean you haven't gotten it yet?" (in tones of utter amazement) "I'll send another right away." (which of course never arrives)

"We're snowed in here in Tahiti this week, but I'll put a money order in the mail just as soon as I can get to the post office."

I was up at 3 am sending out NPBs and FVFs and now the fallout is coming in. Bald-faced lies, excuses, promises coming too late, oh Deity, I am so sick of it all.

I received one tonight.."My records show that I have paid".
Sure, guess it's with invisible ink?

Yep. Whenever they offer to send payment "again" you know you're in for a wait.

"I was up at 3 am sending out NPBs and FVFs..."

What auction service do you use? I just pull up a list of unpaids, select the ones I want to NPB and click submit. 10 days later, I just click on the little flashing $ sign and the FVF is filed. VERY easy- no matter how many I have it only tkes a minute or two.

If it's actually taking you HOURS to do NPBs, maybe you should look at a different service.

Replay, that's how my service works too. I love it.

My favorite this week:

"Hi,
I can pay via Paypal, but I don't have enough in my account. Is it alright
with you to wait until I have to right amount in my account to pay you with
Paypal? If not, I can pay with a Money Order.
Please let me know soon "

Huh?

1. Why did you bid?

2. Why don't you just make the payment and have it drawn from your checking account or credit card? Gotta have one or the other on there.

3. Just how long are we talking about here? A couple of days? A month?

Sigh..and it's always for the fairly low dollar amounts ($26 in this case) that these things happen. No response to my reply that I would be willing to wait for a *reasonable* amount of time.

How about this one I got today. Item cost $3.75.

hello.. i am sorry but i have already just purchased a pendant like this one before the auction ended. i'm sorry, but i am emailing you to tell you that i am no longer intrested in purchasing it, although it is very nice. i figured the considerate thing to do is to email you about it and tell rather than just ignoring the auction. i'm sorry! i hope you understand

And here I sit wondering if giving them a neg is worth me getting one back...

Got a newbee recently who kept saying he sent a M.O.
Finally I NPB & FVF'd him, still he says he sent MO.
Told him if he did send one he better cancel it because I never got it.

He wrote me back saying he purchased it at P.O. and they won't cancel till after 90 days.
But he let me know he would send the new one after Christmas when he could cancel the old one.

Gee: I can hardly wait!

No matter the items been resold and delivered.
Wonder how he'll handle the disappointment?

Replay: I don't use an auction service. I try to be pretty thorough, so I start with my oldest rack of inventory and oldest unshipped auction. Pull up all email correspondence containing that auction number. (This gives me a chance to see if they paid by PayPal and I missed it.) On the other laptop I go to the auction page itself, which again will tell me whether or not eBay thinks it was paid for with PayPal.

Sounds like a lot of work but these are fast computers and a few seconds of human effort eliminates lots of useless back and forth email.

Of course dead email addresses and no response to EOA are automatic NPBs.

Seems to me I would still have to look at the email even if I used an auction service. Sometimes there's a valid reason for being late or they tell you they just mailed it that day and you believe them. Sometimes faithful customers are a little slow but respond better to a "do you still want this" email than they would to an NPB. You know.

I was up at 3 am because I am (apparently) at that time of life when, once awakened in the middle of the night, I cannot get back to sleep.

OH My Goodness, fluffy, I have had all of those lately!! Are we getting the same bidders or what??? I had to use my day off today to file for FVF's for my NPB's. With my small number of auctions running, I usually don't deal with it too much.

Speaking of getting waking up and can't getting back to sleep. I have the same problem. My problem is my darn dog. She gets right next to my bed and whines this awful constant whine that doesnt stop until I am up, walk downstairs and let her outside. Then if I fall asleep while she is outside she will bark until I let her back in. This is repeated a few times a night. So by 3am I am up. Why go back to sleep for 2 hours. I have to be up for work at 5am!!!! Don't know what's wrong with the dog. She is beginning to remind me of my grandmother who was up at all hours, walking to the bathroom and back all night.

And Life goes on . . . . . . .

Oh, how I can relate! You can often hear me tapping away at the computer at 3 or 4 a.m. And people wonder why I feel the need to nap around noon.

Paloma, can you get your dog to the vet? She could have a urinary tract infection, and if you've ever had one you know just how painful they are....
I hade two auctions end about three weeks ago, I was about to file on the one, the other I knew would be late. I just got the payments for them today.

I did take her to the vet. The one I really liked left for so cal. Very honest and very caring. DARN. The only one left doesnt really care that much. After extension tests, lots of pain to her and lots of money later,

The first vet I took her to said nothing was wrong after many tests and pain to her. She hated that vet, so did i

This second vet is better but . . .
They say she MIGHT have early stages of Cushings disease and she MIGHT have a tumor on her adrenal glands and the early stages of kidney disease. Now I can put her through surgery and it MIGHT help and might not help. she has gone through so much, I refuse to have her go through anymore pain. They gave me a powder of dried cranbery to put in her food. It smells nasty. I think they just dried up the berries and stems together. They said it was ok to put cranberry sauce (the stuff we use with turkey) instead. Seems to work sometimes.

Ahhhh does life every get better, nope, just changes now and then

Paloma, I know how you feel. My poor kitten (well she was 15 years old) - had an tumors and I agonized over whether to have her have surgery. Well, thinking it would help, did it. She was so sore and so traumatized by the whole ordeal. It was the biggest regret I had for her. After some 500+ to the vets, the tumors came back six months later and (SHE)was gone. I still cry about it sometimes.

Usually, the deadbeats don't communicate with me at all. Lately, I've gotten several emails dealing with pregnancy though. Seems like you might run into problems bidding on ebay near your due date. Even after the baby is born, I know going back to ebay is kind of tough, things are kind of crazy.

Had one of these folks on another site two weeks ago for a $10.00 item.

Yesterday she emails me.this item has been paid for by using paypal, I have not received it as of yet and would like to know when it was mailed.

Do these folks think we are that stupid? Either that or they forgot to take their meds.
