Post a link to your auctions and perhaps we can advise.

Try Kohls. I think there are a lot of people there. Every week they have fabulous sales. This week it is if you spend $75.00 you get an extra 15% off. Their prices are low to begin with and with all those promotions makes things lower. In their jewelry Department you can get Eisenberg Ice Christmas pins for almost half the retail price, now would you buy one on eBay. Not me.

The high shipping cost is killing ebay sellers.

My auctions aren't doing so great either, giving the stuff away this week

It is getting harder and harder to compete with all the cheap but very nice imports you can buy at the stores mentioned above.

This buyer has to agree with Blairwitch.

The shipping fees are horrendous! Enough to scare off this veteran buyer. Even when I request shipping fees to my zip code before bidding, I'm shocked when the tally comes in...

But I'm addicted to eBay, so guess I'll hang around awhile... :>

This may be encouraging for US sellers...

Just add a few necessities to your inventory and who knows...we may see more international bidders

I'm getting some unexpectedly yummy prices this week on old-standby products, so that means there's fresh blood. (And that I should be at work listing more jewelry rather than wasting time here...)

There is a definite change on eBay in the last few months. I have one week with moving inventory at near cost. Then the next way up. It's like a roller coaster. Who knows. My daughter-in-law is a Ralph Lauren rep, out of NYC. And she says their sales are sucking. The worst in 20 years. Her view: Thanks George. Texas needs you. Go back, and leave the country to someone who knows what they are doing. And, she is a Republican.

Who knows.

I sell mostly antique and vintage jewelry. In the past month, the number of items listed has steadily risen. Competition is the problem - if they don't catch your items when first listed, then you only get a brief chance when they end. It is frustrating, kind of like a teenaged girl going to a dance. All the hours of primping and picking out clothes - then no one asks you to dance (except perhaps the class nerd).

I guess the Bush tax cuts didn't make it to Ebay. Don't worry he is telling us things are getting better and we can always believe Pres. Bush.

Interesting how some people always blame their problems on others. (i.e. E-bay, The President, full moon, ect.)

I was in a store the other day (a high end store) and the store manager told me she staffed her store based on last year at this same time and it wasn't nearly enough. She had been swamped all day.(No sales/promotions going on either)
