I was searching the USPS site earlier and came across this new service "Pay at Delivery" - first time I have heard of it. Looks a lot like COD to me - has anyone heard of this?
Guess it's a good "heads up" for us because it's only a matter of time before buyers start wanting to use it...

Oh brother. If this is as reliable as the mail delivery service, I wouldn't even give it one shot! So, if I read this right, then if the postal carrier misdelivers a package the seller loses out on the money for the auction? No thanks.

Two problems one is that I will need my shipping costs before I ship. ANother is that I do custom work, and I want to pbe paid up front for that. The other is- not that the seller can get screwed, but the buyer- once again, DC only proves that the package got to the station. It could, as Fluffy points out in another thread, go to a house on the other side of your block- DC would say the package has been delivered, seller gets his money, where's buyer's package? Once is all it will take and the buyer cancells that program!

both buyer and seller need to sign up to make it work, and there is a monthly fee.
of course fund should be available in buyer account.

I remember when the USPS was trying to compete with electronic bill pay. Let me see, use this for FREE from my bank, or pay the USPS per transaction? I wish they would just stick with delivering the mail, and focusing on making THAT work better.
