3.5 years well over $10,000 in sales to them, my packages sent. Yesterday a new face is behind the counter, parcel post D.C. please. This can Only go Priority she replies, why? because you have correspondence on the outside of the package. WHAT! the same brief thank you notice I have been taping on for 3.5 years? at the very bottom of the package,,No other clerk ever asked for more money. She wanted $1.50 MORE!!!! Unreal! I will never, use that clerk again! If I have the number for her I will give it to the number ahead of me. I hope she was a fill in for the day.
Thank you for your purchase, the best buyers are on E bay.
$1.50 for that statement?
Oh well,,,,,,,
OH!!!!!! and As I thought about this while leaving the Post Office, I notice most of the clerks thank their customers with,,,,,,,,NEXT.

I love the clerks at my post office (some better than others, but they are all nice) but the variety of knowledge amazes me. In my past life, I was a supervisor at a busy academic library circulation desk, and even though I trained people, the variety of answers patrons got was really quite amazing. They just sort of made things up as they went along.

Sounds like the Department of Transportation counter. The Post Office people are starting to have the same attitudes as the DOT folks. Maybe they're just gearing up for the Christmas rush!

It was'nt the D.C. that was $1.50 it was the fact that I said THANKS to my customer on the OUTSIDE of the package!! Unreal! You can ONLY Thank your customers from INSIDE the package! The last thing I do is thank my customer, they buy, I get postage, I put the ITEM in the BOX, tape it,,,,,wrap the paper over it, tape it, weigh it, cut the labels, lick it and stick it. and ship it!
That's MY proceedure and I, will NOT alter it.! Everyone does it thier OWN way.

Hi, I do business with a small town Post Office and one day the post master showed me the rule book. I couldn't believe how big it was hundreds of rules. I can't believe they have to work under so many rules. I understand the clerks better now. I wouldn't last a day at their job. HA HA. Never did like rules very well.
