I really like the Vendio setup. But, how in the world do you guys keep up with what you have on hand (those selling one of a kind items...inventory is no help on postcards).

With the service I use now, when an auction ends, the item goes to invoice if sold or to closed if unsold.

From closed I can click on all, or as many as I want, and relist them. They disappear from closed once they are relisted, so I use the closed view to keep up with what I have on hand.

I now have over 800 items listed, closed or scheduled for relist on the other site. And, I know at any given time what I can relist and what is sold.

From what I understand (I posted on the Vendio board) the item will still stay in closed view forever until I delete it.

If I have 400 items closed this week, and I want to relist 150 of them. Then I would have to do it one at a time and then archive to be able to no longer have those items in closed? I know i can do it with all 150 at one time, but if I hunt and chose which I want to post then I wouldn't know which ones I had reposted and which ones I had not.

How do you guys keep up with relists? It is so simple with the site I use, but their other features are not nearly as good as Vendio's and I like the offline posting.

The post sale section of the sales manager has a catagory called "unsold items" This will list only the items that did not sell. You can relist from this and also archive them from here. Your number columns on the right that show how many people looked at each auction go to zero when you've relisted the item so you can easily tell which ones you need to archive.

Thanks for the answer. I'm still trying to learn it all.

And, I think it may automatically delete like I wanted it to. I was just confused because once I hit relist they go to pending. While in pending, they are still in the closed.

But, once it moves from pending to actually listed, it seems to disappear from the closed view by itself. If so, that is exactly what I wanted.

I was just impatient and a little nervous about trusting it. With thousands of postcards it is really hard to determine what is on hand and I am used to relisting hundreds at a time and still knowing what I have to list and relist at any given time.

It is hard to get used to a new service when you have used another one for several years. But, I think I will be very happy with Vendio and look forward to getting everything switched over.

My method for doing relists on Vendio is not very scientific but it works. Since we both sell postcards, perhaps it would work for you too.

I don't file my inventory any other way than by date of auction end. I pull out my solds and group my "unsolds" together and mark the date of auction end on the outside of the bundle.

I try to relist on or about the 29th day so I don't have to worry about accidently scheduling an auction 1 hour too late. I then go to VENDIO "Post Sale"-"unsold" and find the date I am relisting. I schedule the cards for relist from the unsold list and launch far out into the future so they don't get mixed in with today's pending auctions. I then go to "pending auctions" and cancel the listings.

I edit and schedule launch from pending one by one, pulling the postcard as I do to make sure I have it in hand. I change the price to end in an "8" so I can identify the unsold relists from the unsold new listings, schedule the auction and move on to the next one. It only takes a few minutes really, and this way I am certain I am not relisting a sold card etc.

I have been putting the cards that don't sell after the relist in my store using the same method (changing to "ebay store" item and changing the price to end in "7".

I don't worry about archiving etc because I only work from the card in hand.

How long does that take?

Doing it one by one sounds a bit time consuming, but I do like the idea of actually looking at it and making revisions before the relist. I have constant nightmares about one days unsold listings getting into the wrong pew on the sold and unsold tabs and relisting 50 or so I don't have anymore.

It doesn't take very long if the cards are batched by dates. On Fridays and Saturdays I often relist a week's worth of relists (100+ items) and it doesnt take more than an hour to do. I use the "ctrl" "f" to find the cards in the list when I start relisting and there are hundreds pended, but by the end I don't have to .

Believe me! I have learned from experience to work from the cards and not the computer lists! I have wasted hours looking for a postcard.
