Hi can you all take a look at this, and tell me if you have ever heard of it?? Reason I ask is because I have the exact same dog outfits I bought at an estate sale and I was told they were "hand-made". (They look hand made in person. Have no tags, etc.)
Wonder if somebody stole my pictures and created an idea? heh!

Kiara, have you ever seen these dogs??

These are statutes of dogs and you can dress them in outfits befitting to the season. You can purchase the statutes and then crafters make the outfits and sell them at craft fairs. Do you remember the stone geese. I guess they are still around and people have them on their patio's and dress them according to the season.

Thanks Libra. So crafters make the outfits? I wonder if these dog clothes were made specifically for these dog statues?

I have a 7th avenue catalog with the dogs in it. It comes with the signs and hats for 5 holidays: for Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, Easter, Halloween, and just a Welcome sign.

But, the signs actually say Merry Christmas, Happy Halloween, etc. and the hats are a little different so I guess people took the idea and made individual ones. The set is $29.95.

I sold the resin ones with the Welcome signs in my shop for a couple of years. They were small to large sized dogs in different breeds.

The companies probably expanded on the idea of the plain dog and did the outfits and different signs and crafters copied it.

Then again, some companies get their ideas from the crafters.

Thanks everybody! Guess you cant always rely on what the dealer/estate seller tells you about stuff. I had the impression they were made by the lady down the street kind of thing! hahah.

Wish I had the dogs to come closer to the 29.95 mark, too. . But the outfits have done fairly well. They are cute and people seem to like em.
