Protection applies if:

I found out the hard way when I tried to sign up for Andale and got burned. I cancelled about 10 minutes into the transaction. Not only was I billed after i asked for a credit from Andale but I had about 3 duplicate charges also dinged out. Some of them have been resolved but the complaint to Paypal is still pending. Today I found the bad news on the Paypal website.
So the lesson is "don't use your debit card for any website services".

Andale tried to pull the same crap on me. However, I had cancelled the credit card before they billed it (for other reasons - it was stolen) and never listed a new card. They then threatened to take me to court over the $3 (and some odd cents) and I told them to go for it. They told me they bill in arrears. Okay, fine. Then why three months later were they still trying to get money? They said the additional months were an error and took them off the bill, which is when it come to just over $3. They harassed me for a couple more months and then I never heard from them again. I feel your pain. Andale is a racket!

I had trouble with Andale two years ago billing me for three months for services I had not ordered or used. It took several emails to get them to even answer. They finally did credit me and stop billing me, but it was a nightmare. Their practices are shady.

yeah, it was a nightmare to cancel the 'product' I had with Andale(gallery, which I didn't like) took about 6 months for them to FINALLY cancel...... I think I had to phone them.
