Hi Helpful group. Love reading this forum.
Just got email from Ebay that a 3rd party tried to hijack my Ebay account. They gave me the IP address which I would LOVE to print but know that has to be against some sort of law and 2 wrongs don't make it right. (Nothing was done in my account).
Is there a way I can find out who this IP address belongs to?
I changed passwords already. Thanks for your help, Sandy

Hi Sandra,
Follow this link and type in the I.P. address.
http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html
It will list the name and phone number of the server that hosts the I.P. that you are enquiring about. A short note to the administrator should get some results.
Regards,
Adrian

Sandra- if you THINK you changed your password through the link provided in that email you DID NOT! YOU GOT SPOOFED!
I got the same email and eBay confirmed it DID NOT come from EBAY!
Contact eBAY and ONCE (directly - not through any links in any emails) and try to get your account back ASAP

Thanks so much folks!
I did NOT give password out but did change it through Ebay just in case. This is the third time a hacker tried to mess with my Ebay account. The second time someone from Ebay called my house to discuss importance of passwords, keeping it secret, (I never give it out) changing once in a while and using both letters and numberic together.
I will report this to Ebay. Have a great night. Blizzard in Michigan and yesterday was 65 and I planted Hostas!
