How many business days are you suppose to have between receiving payment and shipping?

I was wondering because I have a bidder very upset with me. I shipped her item in six business day. Normally it takes us two to four days. Last week we lost a day due to the gas leak and power outage.

I refunded her shipping but geez.....

I usually ship within 2 business days, often just the next day. But I don't do a high volume. I just enjoy packing the items and getting them Out of My Ebay Room! Others here will have different methods, I'm sure.

I ship when they pay!
Time frame is up to them!

For 6 days with a crisis you shouldn't have refunded!

I ship within a couple days.
I got groused at when I had a death in the family and did not get back in time to ship when the personal check cleared.
Oh well, a grousey positive was better than a neg.
I wonder if I should "Jacks Webb" 'em. well..not...
hehe

Popnrock, I am not sure but if its Paypal payment, thought you had between 7-10 from time of payment to ship? Somebody knows for sure.

Did you tell you buyer you had a problem?
Tsk! Some People, I swear!!

When we had the hurricane, I was put back a few days. Granted I only had one or two sales, but they were very understanding about the delayed shipping.

You want to hear a wacky thing. This bidder has bought something from me for the past three years.

Did I tell you that our gas leak/power outage made the news? However the Michael Jackson story reduced our story to ten seconds and I didn't get on TV!

You have 7 days, including weekends?, on Paypal for seller protection.

Ebay guidelines say buyers to contact sellers within 3 business days so generally I expect items to be shipped within the same timeframe after receiving payment.

6 business days is actually 1 week and 1 day which is too long.
I understand that you had a crisis so that can be excused, but that's not the buyers problem so I would certainly expect them to be upset.

I read on another thread that a buyer was able to claim a Paypal refund because item was not "received" within 7 days after payment ?

Hi all,

I don't know how many business days you're "supposed" to have for shipping. It depends on whom you're asking.

Like Sanmar, I ship as soon as payment gets here. I'm with Roadsmith - - I want to get that package out of my eBay room as soon as possible.

If it's PayPal and arrives before noon I almost always ship that same day. Otherwise it's the next day.

An observation... It doesn't take any more time to pack and ship if you do it on Day One than if you wait until Day Four, Five, Six, Seven, etc., and your customers will be a whole lot happier when they get their package promptly.

I try to ship the same day payment is received next day at the latest. This is a business for me not a hobby.

There may well be a difference here between people who work outside the home or have toddlers and those of us who don't work at outside jobs and/or are retired.

It's easier for people like me (in the latter group) to ship the same day or the day after than it would be for someone else. The message here, though, is that if you're waiting 5 - 7 days to ship, your life may be too complicated or busy to sell and ship in a way that buyers want. So you'll be getting more complaints, which can feel toxic to you if you take them to heart.

I ship Paypal twice a week (usually Tues or Weds and Saturday) and checks just on Saturday (I don't hold to clear). This works best for me than shipping daily and my buyers seem to be satisfied.

I don't take Paypal, and Bidpay is seldom used. I ship next day for MO or Bidpay, no rush on PC's. I can ship every day as the post office is quite close. My tos reflects the above.

Life is not a dress rehearsal
