its cursed I tell ya, cursed!
I put it up for auction the first time, it was bid to the amount of $70 (less shipping) and the guy then didn't want it! I filed NPB and got my FVF's and I negged him, the next day he was NARU'ed.
I put it up again, now about 2 months later...got bids, was won by bidder at $69 (less shipping). I send out my EOA notice, he did reply saying he needed to end some auctions and could I wait till next week (this was last week) I said, no problem...
I just got this:
Hi,
I have a dilemma. I know bid on this item, but I ran into some financial difficulties and I can not pay the full price for this item. I know this is a major inconvenience for you, so in return I wanted to ask you if I could offer you some compensation such as paying for your listing fees?
Please let me know, and I do apologize
OK, what would any of you do? File NBP? take the listing fees he offered (course he doesn't mention the FVF) then, offer it to the second highest bidder (probably bought one already, it was a 3Comm USB Webcam)
I just don't know how to respond to these people anymore!
BTW, he is a seller, checked his fb, he has 1 neg for no pay, but buys items in the $60 to $100 range.
Don't know. Never know, I may get a neg if I file NBP on him... argh

Email him with the total of the listing fee and the FVF - if he pays it, be done with it. YEs he should have followed thru but it's better to at least get your costs covered that incur a total loss. If you accept the fees, I would not advise filing against him, unless you don't mind the neg that will surely follow.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I just now checked his COMPLETED bidding, and what he won, HE won TWO more of the exact webcam I was selling (he won) and won 25 other items!
He also bid and WON items today at the prices of between $50-$75.
Now what. Would you confront him with this.
I had only looked at his feedback previously.
God ebay sucks sometimes.

Near, I would write and say I've noticed you've completed some other bidding activities. As a seller himself, he well knows you have the FVF to cover from him, too. Ask for it. All he can do is refuse and you are right where you started anyway!

and since he is offering, I would add a 10% restocking fee....as a seller he knows what an inconvenience this whole deal is.

Hi Near, I had something like this happen to me over the summer, the first time the item ended for $72.00,second time around $66.00 or $68.00 dollars, the buyer wrote me telling me he was also a seller and he was waiting for some paypals and he would pay me with his paypal balance. a couple of days later he wrote me saying other things came up, and he needed his paypal balance to use as a debit card for medicine for a family member. I checked his buying and selling record which was quite active and still going strong,1 neg for non-payment, 1 neutral for stringing the guy along till he eventually got his merchandise after he paid immediately after auction.. I sent him an email saying I know their are lows and highs, selling and buying on ebay, but I believe it is his kind of selling and buying abuse that ruins it for other sellers, and scares buyers away. (I was pleased to see that his user ID was used for both buying and selling.)I am filing for my NPB and I will not have any problem leaving a negative feedback. so much for community and solidarity among sellers. He paypalled me that day.We both did not leave any feedback at all, but I was certainly glad to see that transaction disappear under my feedback I need to leave.

Well.... I wrote to him back last night befor I shut this off. I told him, 'As a seller, its just not listing fees (besides, we all take 'gambles' with those, some things don't sell) its also FVF's, and I told him that I was going to have to file, he'll received a reminder to pay seller, which he can ignore, and then after 10 days I am credited my FVF's from ebay.
He wrote back this am! check this out, and he's a seller?

Will that give me a NPB warning? If so, then that’s not good considering I have 2. One from a long time ago when I didn’t’ care and one just recently when I paid this guy listing fees, yet he gave it to me anyways…

So this would be the THIRD...I wasn't sure if it was the 3rd or 4th NBP, and how long does it take for them to NARU his a@@???
Hmmmmmm. I want to just forget the whole damn thing.. keep the webcam, (or write an interesting description on it, saying how it is cursed! and check off 'immidiate pay')
I also feel funny writing to him saying 'I see you've won $xxx amount yesterday and today' not sure why I feel that way, but I guess I feel that will make him more p*ssed.
I don't want the listing fee back from him!
Arghhhh. I feel a neg coming if I file... I shouldn't care, but... it does hurt when you see one of those, and you know it is no fault of your own!
I just don't know

it takes THREE filing for final credit to get the bidder booted off Ebay.....
Just follow your terms and don't email him again.
Just sent the NPB and at that point, you are no longer under obligation to sell it to him/her.
States that on the email he/she will receive.
You might give them another 24 hours to respond OR pay after filing.
Relist after that, file after 10 days from the NPB, and get them off.
