Normally, yes.

This year, after having the big .10 Fixed Price day last week, I don't know. That was a pretty big event for me- I'm still not caught up with all my packing and shipping.

My advice: Prepare for it, but don't count on it!

You can count on it. Ebay has always rewarded it's seller with the Christmas gift of a FLD. The key is guessing what day they will have it. Last year was the day after Christmas. The two previous years was the 20th. This year ????

This year the whole of December will be filled with small nothing giveaways. Three in the last week and now we have the 2 day triple header. Holiday Penny Pack

The 1/2 Price Sub-title Special can't be far behind.

If I recall , ebay announced several months ago that they were giving a free listing day on Dec 26.

Assuming they do it all, eBay wouldn't announce it. They NEVER do that. If sellers knew when it was coming, it's screw up listing numbers throughout all of December.

As far as I can remember, it's ALWAYS been on a Thursday (Many people use the extra 10 day option so their listings will end on a Sunday).

I'd bet on either the 18th or 25th. You read it here first!

Beg to differ. Ebay did state FLD will be Dec 26 on their announcement board either 1 1/2 or 2 months ago. Believe they called it " in appreciation" Why should it mess up listings for the month when the rush is on to get items listed for Xmas sales? Besides a lot of people steer away from FLD because of past glitches and the subsequent hassle. Also it is generally assumed that in auctions, the final bid price will be lower than normal.

It's almost always the day after Christmas. Does anyone remember the vendio/auctionwatch mess we had last December 26th? Nearly all the uploads after a certain time frame locked up completely and nothing got uploaded. If you're banking on a FLD, get your listings uploaded early because there will be an avalance of listings on that day.

FLD has not always been the day after Christmas.

in 1998 it was on Dec 22
in 1999 it was on Dec 20
in 2000 it was on Dec 20
in 2001 it was on Dec 20
in 2002 it was on Dec 26

(dates came from checking my Dec invoices for said years)

I doubt ebay will do it on Dec 25th as that would really anger many sellers...even sellers celebrate Christmas and most won't want to list on Christmas day, nor will they want their 7 day auctions to end on New Years day.

In the past year many of the promotions have come at the beginning of the week. I think this year it will be on Sat, Dec 20th, which would avoid auctions ending on Christmas, New Years Eve, or New years...or on the 23rd which ends the auctions on Dec 30th or Jan 2nd.

I doubt it will be held on Dec 24th as that is Christmas eve (another very busy day for most of us) and 7 day auctions would end on New Years Eve (another very busy day/night for many users)

the 25th would be great!!!

Half of the sellers would miss it then.

It was on the ebay announcement page so it may as well have been in white text as maybe 2% of all ebayers ever read the announcement pages.

Actually, it was up there clearly printed in English for everyone to see - even the old and deteriorating bodies in their twilight years such as myself. Think it was posted on the home page as well. Cannot understand why no one else here made note of it or filed it away in their memory banks.
