How do you list an auction where the BIN price stays there until someone clicks on it? I have seen some auctions where the first bid will knock out the BIN price so you can't use it anymore, and others where there are multiple bids and the BIN price still shows. Does it have to do with having a reserve on the auction? I'll be listing a few things soon, and I'd like the BIN to stay on until someone uses it.

Not sure, lurkyloo, but I think it is a reserve they must have on the auction. Check back with those you saw and see if thats it. Far as I knew, Bin goes bye-bye after first bid.

Sorry, but it does not have to be a reserve auction. You can set a BIN price, but not put in a reserve price. It will sell at the highest price even though it doesn't reach the BIN. Been there, done that. Also not true that BIN goes away after 1st bid. I have a item with a reserve of $249.00 & a BIN of $250.00, there is a bid of $100.00 om it & the BIN is still there.

Here's the BIN info from ebay ( to find anything on ebay click on "HELP" link at the top of every page and then enter the desired info in the help search engine )
When you choose the Buy It Now option on Online Auction Listings (available for single quantity only), your item has two ways to sell.
If a buyer is willing to meet your Buy It Now price before the first bid comes in, your item sells instantly and your auction ends.
OR, if a bid comes in first, the Buy It Now option disappears. Then your auction proceeds normally. (In Reserve Price Auctions, Buy It Now disappears after the first bid that meets the reserve.)

Thanks for the info, folks. I haven't sold anything in a long time, and I know they've made some updates since then--and I thought this might have been one of them. I guess I just happened to see several auctions with BINs and bids, and I didn't study them long enough to see that the pattern was an unmet reserve.

Good Morning lurkyloo,
auctionACE is RIGHT!
if you put a reserve on your auction the bin will stay there UNTIL your reserve is met.
Makes sense because bids below reserve don't count anyways item won't sell until reserve is met.
Correct, that's a Reserve Auction where the reserve has not been met. The BIN will stay until the reserve is met and then this auction will be just like any other auction and the BIN will disappear if the BIN price is not used.
