I was sent a bogus email stating it was from Ebay. I stupidly clicked on the link and put in my ebay name and password. I realized only after I had done this I had been duped. I have since changed my password, and name on Ebay. I have also changed my paypal password. And my email password. What are these scam artist out to get on Ebay from me? And Ebay told me to change my email password. I am wondering why on that. And since changing my passwords is that enough. I changed my password within the hour of this happening. I have also copied and pasted what I was sent below. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

If you would read this room on a regular basis, you would have seen scam reported a copuple of weeks ago. If you still have it send a copy to [email protected]

Glad you caught it in time to keep control of your account. I think eBay advised you to change your email password just in case it was the same as all the rest. I think those scum bags list bogus merchandise under your user name if they can get away with it..one day auctions for non-existent high ticket items and then take the money and run.

It's a good thing you realized this was a problem right after. If you changed your info before they had a chance to go in, then you are probably fine (unless it is one of those that asked for your social security number, checking account info, etc.) - If it is just ebay ID and password, and you changed it before they got in, you are probably ok though.

You had better keep a very good watch on your credit card/bank info too. Most of the spoof e-mails have been asking for bank info. In fact, if yours did, you better cancel all credit cards and move your money from your bank accounts to a new one.
