MAJOR PROBLEM ON eBAY - since approximately last Friday or Saturday, MANY of my sold auction pages are appearing as these two:
As you can see, there is no way to “RELIST”, no way to “LIST SIMILAR” AND actually, no sold, although the auction appears in “MY eBAY” as sold, and they have instantly been paid for via PayPal!
These, “screwed” up sold pages on eBay won’t trigger “SOLD” on my auction bookkeeping program, so I am having to do all of these “the old fashion, slow” way.
THE WORST PART IS I CAN’T LINK TO THE SOLD AUCTION, as there is no way to “relist” it! This is costly as I normally just roll an auction on the sold one, which I can’t do when they appear as these and about 11 other of my sold auction do.
AM I alone in this problem or, are others encountering the same problem?
I so seldom have a problem on eBay I don’t even know where to report this OBVIOUS technical problem to eBay.

Look. It's a database error, one of many potential (and seemingly escalating) errors.
My money is on a problem with eBay's database software. I don't care how scalable the vendor claimed it was; eBay listings counts are at an all-time high and it would NOT surprise me if the software can no longer deal with it. All software has limits.
Document the problem clearly, calmly and lucidly (including all relevant auction numbers) and send the report to PowerSeller support. Then follow up until you get a reasonable response.

Wondercat - that wasn't a very helpful response. To each his own on midis - I've been on eBay since 1996- and you'd be amazed how many e-mails a week I get about the beautiful music -
BUT, that isn't the issue, the issue is the lack of SOLD, relist, sell similar, not appearing - who does one report such too?
I've reported so little over the years, I don't know who to report it to, which will really get to the right people like the techs
**************
REGARDING YOUR SECOND RESPONSE - THANKS! The problem is I have used the Power Seller problem e-mail so little, I don't remember it either!

Lets get off the Midi issue - you don't have to like them as long as my buyers do.....it is a personal choice and mode of selling.....
NOW, any direction on where I can find the Power Seller e-mail address?

Time for a Fluffy General Observation:
The more crap (MIDIs, animated GIFS, multiple text colors, pages and pages and pages the potential bidder has to scroll through, multiple bogus credentials, flat out WRONG terminology), the more likely it is that the merchandise is cheesy overpriced garbage.
Those things are red flags to any bidder with a brain.

"Lets get off the Midi issue - you don't have to like them as long as my buyers do.....it is a personal choice and mode of sellin"
The funny thing about this statement is that you have NO IDEA how many POTENTIAL buyers you are turning away because of this. I don't care what the item it, I start hearing music, and I am outta there....

Again, that is a personal choice - professional ad people ALWAYS use music to set a mood - movies without "mood" music would be dead - BUT, it is a personal choice, and we have found over the years that our ads work for us - we create our own ads not using templates, and try to create the ad to complement the item. Perhaps the music attracts the type of buyer we can best work with........who knows!!!!
But, none of the above is the issue - this problem with eBay is slowing down our productivity because of the SOLD'S not showing up........AND I am at a loss to know who/how to report it.
Obviously, folks are more interested in discussing midi's than offering insight to this problem, sorry I even posted.....you all have a nice day....

Would you believe I quit an indoor flea market last weekend because of music. They had brought a band of what sounded like a howling hound quartet which blocked the whole isle with a crowd of people dancing and singing...maybe them enjoyed it. But for all us venders on that row we got no more customers the rest of the day, I figure I lost at least $150.00 to $300.00 in sales. And then they tell us they are going to have this music until Christmas. To me that is not professional, people come to shop...its not a Bar. I will never set up in this Flea Market on the inside again. I feel that way about music on auctions as well...its not a bar,let people shop in peace and quit. Thats one reason I quit going to church, their new age music drove me crazy.

Am I the only one that has noticed that the auction is still live and so there seems to be no need to relist it?
As for the midi - There are two issues really that make them a bad idea. Some people just flat out find them annoying. Others using dialup resent having their time held hostage by an the loading of an unnecessary extra. Personally - I despise being subjected to what others find soothing cute or entertaining and so I have turned the volume on my computer off.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I have already reported it and Power Seller support said they are "working on it"...if you will note, "my ebay" shows "view all my items" in the sold section, if you click on those you can see the ones that were sold and not showing in "normal view"

jwpc -- Many people browse auctions while at work. Music is a big no-no, because it implies that the person is not doing work-related stuff.
Therefore, whenever I hit a page with music I CLICK AWAY WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT to avoid any embarrassment. This means lost bidders for you.
So, even though I looked at your auction I don't even know what you were selling.

And fenix nabs today's Sharp-Eyed Reader Award. Those are store items, I guess, not auctions.
That's what I get for assuming an OP knows what he's talking about.

To each his own as far as the music goes...sometimes less is more.
Ebay DOES have major problems!! Store items are not showing sold and mine were even being cross promoted after sale! Where's the announcement about it?? How about an email to store owners? NADA
posted on December 9, 2003 10:37:35 AM new
DAMN! Just got another one! The only way I know the item is "sold" is that "items sold" (in My EBAY) has "view all your items" next to it and when activated, the store item appears! Of course if you click on the item, it still shows active and has to be ended. No notifications are sent on these sales. STORE OWNERS BEWARE!
THANKS! For reporting the problem - You know I realize I can know sales via "My Ebay" but it is really creating extra work, during this busy season, I don't need more to do, between ebay and 4 web sites, I've already have more than I can do.

Wouldn't hurt if you reported it too..squeaky wheel gets the grease etc etc.
I can go weeks without a store sale and suddenly, now that store function is not working properly, I get 13 sales??!!! A real pain to have to watch for them, and then to manually end the auction!
