Just got this email-Wanted advice on it's authenticty and advice as to if anyone has ever recieved this type of message before. Thanks. (I took out all personal info)

We regret to inform you that you received funds from an account with
reports of fraudulent bank account use. The transaction listed below is
under review.

Transaction ID: 568110720G7994820
Transaction Date: Dec. 4, 2003
Transaction Amount: $4.96 USD
Buyer's Email:
Buyer's Name:

To help in our investigation, please reply with the following information
within 7 calendar days:

1. The item that was purchased and the value of the item.
2. The name and address given to you by the buyer.
3. Whether or not the purchase has been shipped. (If you have not yet sent
the purchase, please do not proceed with the exchange.)
4. If already shipped, please provide the company used, date of shipment,
and tracking number, so that PayPal can verify the shipment and delivery
online. (For transactions of $250.00 USD or more, you must provide a
proof-of-receipt in the form of a signature from the buyer.)
5. Details of any other payments you sent or received that were related to
the above transaction.
6. Your day and evening phone numbers.

We would like to obtain as much information as possible about the above
transaction, including any email correspondence between you and the buyer,
in order to expedite this investigation. Solving fraudulent cases helps us
continue to offer PayPal as a secure and cost-effective payment service.

I wonder if it's from the same fraudulent eBayer that I had. Check out my thread on the same thing. This is for real. You can check your Paypal account and it will show a reversal.

Oh thanks Cheryl-I didn't notice your thread. I'm not too concerned about $4.96. I would be with a $26 purchase like yours. Needless to say I shipped already. But I guess I am required to take another half hour of time to fill out this info for PayPal...

I really feed bad for the guy who shipped the $350 item! There was also a $1,200 item. I hope that wasn't shipped! It was bound to happen sooner or later.

You better go to your PayPal account BEFORE you fill out the info. If it is legite, it will show in your account history. It does sound legite, but you better make sure.
