A friend of mine gets a lot of Swatch watches. He prices them by the seat of his pants at the flea market. (Okay, poor way to phrase it!) I would like to get him a watch guide that has a section on Swatches that dates and prices them. Can you help?

Try going to dmoz or google or user groups
(all in the google search option main page)
and type swatch colletibles or collectables or prices.
I had to search for some funky '70's watches.

As an aside: google just is beginning to suck as a search engine. Type in "medieval castle crenulation" and 9 chances out of 10 it will link you to an ebay auction!!!

edited to try to spell crenulation, correctly!

I like Excite for searching. I was hoping someone was familiar with one of the watch guides. I have an L & W Collectable books list and it has bunches of books with watches and pocket watches. I guess I would like help picking out the best!

Swatch does have a collector book and I suggest that he get one as all swatches are coded in the back as to where they were made and the year and that is important. Of course American made swatches are collectable to the foreign trade and all foreign swatches are collectable to the USA trade so be sure when he lists that he will sell internationally and check the box so it will appear when someone searches. I have sold a few to a collector in Spain and he sends cash...
The swatch collector book is really interesting as it has pictures of all the swatches made. I have a few of the PoP swatches. You can wear them on T-shirts as they Pop off their watch bands.

Here is one.. Not a recent one but the price is good. Opps just looked at the shipping and that is way out unless he is going to send it 1st class. It is still a good buy.

Thank you Libra63! That is the only guide I can find on Ebay. Apparently, Edwards book is the easiest to find. I looked at Amazon.com and one of the reviewers really likes one by Bonello. I think I will buy the one by Edwards and try to get a used Bonello when one becomes available. This is starting to get me interested in Swatches, too. Thanks so much!

You probably know that one reason swatch watches are collectible because they were a fad in the 80's made of plastic and most didn't survive. Remember they had those smell watch bands, Strawberry etc. The very expensive ones are only sold through the conventions. I think they have one limited edition a year. Swatch also made Shirts and Sweat Shirts.
