Half.com is trying hard to make themselves irrelevant by tieing in to ebay. They want us to transfer all our no-ending-date listings to 7 day auctions? Not hardly! My sales there have dried up completely. I'm in the process of transferring all my listings to Amazon.

I think ebay hopes that the Half sellers will open ebay stores at 5 cents per month for listings. ( plus $10/month for the store )
Ainta gonna happen though since ebay refuses to promote the ebay stores.

This two week period was shaping up to be one of my best since the summer, too bad I cut it short by going on vacation. I'm sad half is going away, but you just have to change with the times. This will change what I do a little, instead of posting smaller items on half when I buy collections, I will just list the better stuff on ebay, and bulk lot the other stuff to save time and money...

I agree that it's dead! One sale every three weeks or so. The last one, by the way, Half.com said I had to send it express mail. I got $6 to do that, and it was a heavy book to the east coast (from the west cost); cost $10.45 to mail via priority.
I probably could have tried to communicate with the seller but I was so busy I just gave up. I'll frankly be glad when Half is gone and I'm forced to list my books somewhere else.

The only way that happens is when the seller agrees to use the Expedited Shipping Option. At sometime you checked that box on Half and it's still checked unless you recently unchecked it.
I saw that feature when it came out and at first said "oh boy, I'll gather some extra sales by offering the faster s/h option" but then thought about all the heavy books I have and saw that it was a very, very bad idea.

Ace: You're right. I did check the expedited mail option--so long ago that I'd forgotten about it and this was the first time anyone asked for it.

With Amazon marketplace, you can check expedited shipping option for each item, whereas with half it's all or none. Big difference.

Yahoo Used Goods ( Warehouse ) was the same way as Amazon now is --- you set each item. A major screw-up by Half/ebay by now following the other guys.
