Camedia came with my new Olympus camera...I have Microsoft Picture It! 7.0 that came with the computer. Can anyone tell me which is better? Camedia will do movies, but I don't see myself doing that for a long, long time.

I think it's one of those things that you should just give it a whirl and see if it suits your needs any better than your current software. I like ArcSoft PhotoStudio V.4.0 but have tried Adobe Photoshop, Canon software, ULead, Broaderbund PrintShop, ACD, Corel, and a few others that I've forgotten, and I've found that they all have good features, but I prefer the user friendly format of ArcSoft.

Give it a try and good luck!

It really depends on what it is you want to do with your images. Picking imaging software is like picking a car - I could easily recommend Photoshop to you. It's an amazing program with almost no limitations, of course it's $600 price tag may be more than you are looking to spend and it may have more than you actually need. I'm sure if you could provide more info on how you want to manipulate your images someone could easily recommend the perfect program for you.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

maybedee; You didn't say which program came with your Olympus. I have an Olympus too. My program is Adobe Photoshop HE 3.0, I love it, very easy to use & is programmed for the Olympus. I recommend that you get a power cord so you don't wear down the batteries whle downloading. I use mine when taking a lot pics. SWometimes I will shoot the entire limit of 36 & when you use the screen to see & shoot with, it will really drain the batteries. I got mine at Radio Shack, it adjustable from 3 to 6.5 volts. Called a Digital Camera Power Supply. Sells for about $20.00.

Hello Sanmar... Camedia came with my Olympus and Picture It came with the computer. I was wondering, between the two which one people prefer. Mainly my photos are for Ebay, but if I ever learn all the adjustments on this camera I may do other things in the future. I do have a power cord and use it quite a bit. Also used a Flash Path for downloading on the older computer and that worked fine. Just bought a card reader because the Flash Path doesn't accommodate xD, it like only Smart Media.

Camedia is the total pkg. If you download it to your computer, you will find another program within it. That should be Adobe Photo Shop etc.

Tom,
You have hit the nail on the head as usual. Irfanview is an excellent program and the price is just right. Another winner is the Gimp in the Linux or Windows versions.
Regards,
Adrian
