I definitly agree-My sales went up starting in Oct 03 and I have been going steady at about 85-95% sell through. I also think it depends on what you sell as well. I am in jewelry and there is always a market for that.

Mine are picking up too. Actually, much better than pre - Christmas. I have no idea why.

Sales are steady for me. I am selling antiques and collectibles. I have a kid in college (his last year) so I need Ebay for few more months. After that maybe I can get a life again. Ebay has paid for college but is too much work. No more 10 or 12 hour days seven days a week for me.

I have found that sales are usually good this time of year. I think it is because of the cold weather it keeps people inside.

Sales have been pretty good for me as well. Both on ebay and in my store. We had a horrible first two weeks in December, then bam! Everyone and their mother was buying stuff, and it has continued through the holiday though we've been snowed and iced in all week. Not a good way to start off the year by being closed for 4 straight days.

Jewelry is taking off - I had 100% last week, really surprised me. I have never had that before. Now let's hope I have 100% of the payments ...

Mine stay 'bidless' it seems until the last hour of my auctions, but very good overall. Love the snipers!

Usually my auctions get bids on the last few hours of the last day. But I've got 10 videos ending tonight that started getting bids two days ago--and with about 6 hours left in the auction they are all going for way more than I expected. A bidding war is going on, for some reason. These are not rare videos; looks like one guy is determined to have them, though. If he goes a tiny bit higher, he could have bought them brand new...

I also had some genalogy books really take off a few days ago, with last minute snipers bidding them way up.

Although the new year is only 10 days old, I have a good feeling about it...

Been selling since July 1997; January is always been my strongest month. Colder, snowy, rainy weather more predominant in the US. No big flea markets or outdoor sales (a few) so more people sitting in their underwear surfin' the net (ebay I hope)!

I too, am pleased with sales so far. Always thought January was dead with after Christmas, etc? Ebay is always so full of surprizes when you least expect it.

Its freezing here, and I've heard its the coldest in the northeast in ten years, so maybe people are not going out much. Fine with me!!

Definitely Agree BUT there is a limit – we are MUCH busier than before Xmas – but that is how it has always runs for us – at the moment on our web sites I simply can’t keep up, which really doesn’t make for good business, and we are, as I write this, trying to figure out how to better move orders.

We have 2 full time packers, and one who answers the phone, and have had to pull in our part time girl, and still can’t keep up.

I dropped off eBay over a week ago simply because I couldn’t keep up with it and our web sites too, and now folks on eBay are buying through our store even though we have no auctions posted to promo items – it is crazy!

To me our BIGGEST time killer, and most of the time a waste of time is answering e-mail – if one takes the time to answer all the e-mail it eats up endless time – and if you ignore all the stupid questions which answers are already posted in the ad, then people get PO’d! I’d LOVE to know how the big retailers handle all the stupid e-mail.

Right now, I’m just tired and frustrated trying to keep up. I’m not complaining, just, overwhelmed, and quickly trying to find a better way to process items.

What do some of you do with the ENDLESS, POINTLESS, e-mails?
