Since Christmas, I have received an overwhelming amount of emails from people wanting me to discount my items even further than what they are listed at. Here is the latest example of someone being passive aggressive in asking me to discount an item they want.

Question for Seller: "ok heres the thing i want the shirt and am willing to buy it now but i only have $39.00 in my paypal funds...any ideas what we can do?"

The item has a starting bid of $39.50 and a Buy It Now of $45.00. Hello??? My response...

"I would recommend either adding enough funds to your paypal account to cover the item and shipping, or send payment by mail. that would be the best two
options."

Anyone else getting a bunch of these?

Potential responses:

"I hear Wendy's is hiring."

"Tell you what: You've only got 8/9ths of the purchase price, so how about I only send you 8/9ths of the shirt?"

"Oh look Mabel -- another graduate of the e.e. cummings school of capitalization!"

yep, I've been getting a fairly new buyer with 4 fb that is bombarding me with offers on my stuff, but its 'speciality' items, actually advertising for a certain product for certain cafes. I told him they are on an auction and I wasn't going to stop the auction to sell. He did this last week with the same item, he finally bid, but too late, and it went for over $100., so no, I am not selling them outright, they seem to do better if I leave them up on auction, then let a buyer give me a price they want to pay. man this guy has been relentless on it though! I've been getting 2-3 emails a day on it... NOW he wants business advice, and gave his phone number for advice on the product! We work for the company, but I don't think we should be giving him marketing advice, his sales rep should, I've ignored that one!

I had a guy email me offering $45.00 including shipping for a Nike letterman jacket with leather sleeves (retail in the mall is $300). I listed them at $79.00, plus $12.00 priority shipping because they weigh between 5 and 7 pounds.

He wouldn't quit emailing me about selling him the item, until I finally got rude with him and told him to f*#@ off. He kept telling me that he saw them being auctioned for $15-20 each and he felt he was being reasonable. I asked him for the auction #'s for those auctions, so I could see for myself (and possibly buy them at that price if it was true). He never supplied the auction numbers, even though he said the auctions had ended.

I think I'm going to just ignore offers for less than the listed price. Its just a waste of time.

I love the folks who state they can get it cheaper at 10 different places but waste their time emailing me.

This just started with me X 2004!

I'm all of a sudden getting really STUPID offers for new merchandise that I sell -- all they have to do is a Google search & they can see that Ralphie's prices are pretty dog-gone doggy-good!

Is this I-OFFER fallout?? Newsgroup chatter?? Trent Lott is STILL a weenie!!

Geez,

I get emails all the time asking me to lower the price or do an off Ebay sale. LOL, and I'm in no way a high volume seller!

The off Ebay garbage gets reported to SafeHarbor and the others are told in a nice way to go bid on the "cheaper" auction.

The ones I like are the bidders who try to negotiate after an auction closes with them as high bidder. I have a low tolerance for this type of garbage. I tell them to pay up or face an NPB and a neg. Negotiations are done before bidding and not at EOA.

Stupid Bidder Syndrome and "cheap skates" are a waste of time IMO.

Sounds like loads of fun. I would be tempted to ignore them.

Just had one of these bozos. They got themselves NARU. I guess they think Ebay sellers are dumb and open to threats of non payment. WRONG!

I've gotten a few, I just tell them no, it is an auction and they need to bid. If they email me again asking me the same thing, I block their email, and I block them from bidding.

Giftsforall....

The one I'm dealing with is heading for 7 negs! I'm sure there will be retalitories tossed my way unless I burn him at 90 days.

I'll keep mine factual so it explains what this doofus has done and of course I'll respond to all his negs if I get bombed.

The savvy and well not so savvy Ebay users will see right through the negs anyways.

Of course my perfect FB scaore will be no more but oh well boo hoo, sooner or later it would go eventually. Especially with what seems to be some real idiot bidders on the loose.
