Hi
I have a bunch of 1940's, 50's and '60's quarters, dimes and pennies.
Should I just spend them?
I see the uncirculated ones go for very cheap on ebay. There are mercury heads dimes and some odds and ends, but it's all been circulated.
One buffalo nickel that's nearly bare. A walking liberty that is bare and that's it.
I was thinking of just leaving it as restaurant tips.
Thanks
J

Any dime, quarter, or half made in 1964 or before is silver and is worth at least 4 times it's face value. Buffalo nickels, even if you can't see a date, are also worth at least 3 times face value.

Do you know3 a reputable coin dealer?? If so take your coins to him & get an appraisal. A lot depends on the condition of the coin as well as the date it was made & the mint. Yes, the silver content has a bearing, but not that much.

Coins are an up and down sell... Sanmar is right or at least pick up a Red Book to give you an idea of worth... Red Book is a respected price "guide"
