I have a question for you guys? If I run an auction on Ebay which has the "Buy It Now" option and no one decides to purshace my product...is there anyway for me to "Recoop"...get back etc the intial insertion fees. I'm a running a number of auctions right now with the "Buy It Now" option and I don't want to "Lose", my intial insertion fees if I don't have to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated(:
Thanks,
Ryan

You need to set up your BINs for immediate pay.

Go to the listing, click EDIT.
When you get to the listing to change it, scroll down to the payment section.
Click that.

Then it will open to a page to CHECK the Immediate pay, then fill in the rest with your email address for PAYPAL and the shipping cost.
Click submit change, then click submit revision.

That should not allow anyone to end a BIN without paying for it.
If they don't pay, the auction stays active.
That is your only recourse.

If your items does not sell, you lose the listing fee.
You can relist and sell the second time and will only be charged ONE fee.
If you don't sell the second time, you pay BOTH.

Needed to clarify. I thought you wanted to insure payment and not get stuck with a non paying bidder and have to pay the fee.

Oh well.

The 5 cent buy it now fee can not be re-couped, except maybe if you went in before 12 hours was left on the auction and took off the buy it now, it might refund the nickel.

However you asked about the insertion fee.

Do you think you get back insertion fees if there is no "Buy It Now" and the item does not sell?

You can re-list the item if it does not sell, and the second insertion fee should be refunded if it sells the second time. (At least if all of the criteria for eBay are met for a relist refund)

Are you worried about the 5 cent BIN fee or the total insertion fee? Either way, this is the cost of doing business on eBay. After you have run several hundred or (thousand)you will get used a few lossess. You will learn what will sell & make you "rich & famous". lol
