Hi all,

High bidder on an auction that ended January 11 never responded to my EOA.

She's on AOL so I could see she never read the email. I sent an invoice via eBay, she didn't read that either.

I was ready to start NPB this morning when I saw she was on line. I sent her an IM asking her to read her email. She responded she didn't see any email from me so I re-sent my original EOA, which she did read.

My question is, how much longer would you wait for payment? The EOA says payment is due in ten days. It's already been eight.

I'm thinking three more would be enough time for her to send PayPal. Then it's NPB time.

Thoughts??

Lucy

If there was a glitch before just give her a chance to make good.Ten days is fine however in this case I would give some leeway.
Better to get paid then worry about filing a npb.

In this case, I would give her 24 hrs to respond. Then I would give her a NPB. I don't want to fzzz with these biddersd anymore. I have too many NPB's lately

AOL now has a separate folder that holds what it thinks is spam. The mail sits there "unread" until you delete it. I'm sure she's just not seeing it in her "inbox", and therefore thinks you didn't send anything. I'm on AOL and I find mail in my spam folder at least once a week that's from someone I know. Not sure what triggers it, but at least I get to still view it if I want to.

Replay, I didn't IM that I hadn't been paid.

Here's my IM:

Hello, You won the XXXXX from me on eBay. Please read the email I sent you. Thanks, Lucy

I am on AOL ..where does one find the "spam" folder? I think I am receiving all my mail..including spam...where can I find all those emails sitting around waiting to be deleted?

Neglus, I think it's only available in the newest version, 9.0, although if you check your AOL email from the web, the spam folder is visible. It's not one of the tabs, it's a link at the bottom left of the window.

AHHHHHHH that 'splains it! I never update AOL version until they work the kinks out..I am still on AOL 8.0 and I don't see a spam folder...sounds like I don't want 9.0!

Please, give us your ebay id so we can block your ass. Lucy had every right to IM to find out if this person had any intention of paying. Communication isn't just limited to e-mail.

If she did not get any of your emails then I would think she would have emailed you for payment instructions! I don't think your going to get paid. I always email the sellers if I have not heard from them after 48-72 hours. Some sellers have gotten real lazy about sending out end of auction notices. Real pain!

You might as well wait 2 more days (that gives her the 10 days to pay and file NPB.

Hi,

Thanks everyone for the input. Yeah, I guess I'll give it another day or two but I doubt she'll pay.

Of course by now the underbidder has likely moved on so a second chance offer probably isn't worth the time.

Gifts - Good point. If I don't hear from a seller I write them for payment info.

Stone - Thanx for the support!

Gee...funniest thing just happened.

I filed the NPB this morning at 7:57.

Received PayPal payment at 9:27 with an apology.

I wonder how long I should wait to remove the NPB. Maybe as long as it took to get paid?

Heh heh heh...

Lucy

Do you need to reverse a NPB? I thought that was just the warning. The FVF is what you would file a reversal on if you get payment.

There is no reversing an NPB Warning. It's not recorded by ebay so it is not necessary.

That's what I was thinking, too. It doesn't need to be reversed.

BUT - in the NPB Frequently Asked Questions I saw this:

How do I retract my Non-Paying Bidder Warning or credit request?
If you have filed the Final Value Fee credit (Non-Paying Bidder Warning), you may use the Non-Paying Bidder Warning Removal Form to remove the warning left for the bidder.

I notice it talks about the warning as well as the FVF credit. I wonder... maybe the policy has changed?

It's referring to the "Non-Paying Bidder" Warning the buyer gets, not the Non-Paying Bidder Alert...

Thanks, wgm.

I guess they get the "warning" after FVF credit.

Thanks for clearing that up. You'd think a warning was less important than an alert.
