Hello,
I sold some items to a guy in Canada. The total came to 1400.00 and he paid with paypal. He is verified but has an unconfirmed address.

I'm getting ready to send package but Im getting nervous now. I guess I am not protected at all if he says he didnt get.

I called paypal and they said that I would not be protected.

I'm thinking maybe I should refund his payment and require him to send me a money order. He sells on ebay...has good feedback and has about 300 transactions on paypal.

What would happen if this package got lost or problems at customs? Or maybe he could just say he didnt get?

Any suggestions??
Thanks!

ALL INTERNATIONAL shipments are 100% at YOUR RISK if you accept PayPal -- NO ifs &/or BUTTS!

For non-USA bidders, I accept ONLY BIDPAY or INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MO's...

If he tells PP that he received NADA, PP will yank da moola outta yer account & you have NO RECOURSE

Everything depends on yer RISK TOLERANCE -- mine is a LOT lower than $1400!! Like about $14.00

BTW: ALL non-USA addresses are UNCONFIRMED for USA sellers...

Camodog, ask the buyer. Worst he can say is no, dont want MO, etc.,want Paypal -- right?

Anybody else think Camodog should insure it?
Does that help any?
(dont do intl, so cannot speak from experience.)

insurance means nothing if he uses a fraudulent credit card,as both parties have to sign the insurance claim form, and he is not going to step up and sign his signature on the form.
also what are you going to say on the customs form??canadian customs will slap customs duty on the package and if it is too much to his liking,he may refuse the package.
also if you ship fed exp or ups,and the customs is too much to his liking,it will come back to you and you will have to pay return shipping.
i would ask for wiretransfer or canadian postal order in us dollars(they sell that in canadian post office) or he can go to a bank and ask for an intl draft drawn on us bank.

Tomwiii hit it right. I also no longer take PayPal from off shore buyers. TOOOO much risk. I just sold a 600 dollar watch to Japan the buyer wanted to pay using PayPal. I explained to him that I was not covered for any kind of loss or fraud he understood and sent cash by Registered Air Mail. Bank to Bank money transfer is also another good safe way to receive money. Your deal to Canada is most likely 99% safe but there is always that 1% risk.

That is a lot of money (to me anyway)if someting goes wrong.

I would recommend payingfast or a money order instead.

Worse Case Senario:

The guy could lie about getting the package. The delivery service could loose it or damage it.

Then your out $1,400. OUCH!
