Hey Post Card sellers and collectors. I have to tell you this story. I am a very bad post card seller. My sell thru rate is maybe 30 percent. I decided to quit selling cards for me its too much work for the return. My son is in college and is always looking for money so I have been giving him Post Cards and other items to sell on Ebay. He has been knocking them dead with the cards his sell thru is way up to like 60 percent or more. He posted a "ME PAGE" about him being in college, a business major and playing Lacrosse et.et. He goes on to say he is selling on Ebay to learn some business experience and to make some extra spending money. All I can say is you card buyers and sellers must have a soft spot in your heart for college kids. He is having a blast on Ebay and making a few buck doing it. One of his buddies was looking at his Ebay list and bids his comment was "Gee, I wish I had something to sell on Ebay it looks like party time to me" LOL. ITS GREAT TO BE YOUNG!!!!

I don't intend this to be a knock against, but that generation has basically grown up with computers so they know the language. Us older folks have a completely different language and it is likely that your son is simply speaking the language of the people that are buying from him. As we get older, it gets harder to keep up with the changes in trends where the younger crowd tends to go with the and understand the changes. I would suggest looking at his auctions and study how they are written, the catagories he is using and listing days and times.

What's he asking for them?

I had a 75% sell through when I listed them at $1.95 and $2.95 a couple of years ago. Now that my starting bid is $5.95 & up I only have a 30% too. But, I make as much and don't have to ship as many.

That's great bigp ... but I doubt that it's the "about me" page that is bringing the buyers in! He must have some nice cards! Sell through rates have been very good since Christmas (knock on wood)so don't be too hard on yourself 30% is about average sell through rate for "ordinary" American view cards unless you give them away (and some like Asheville and Edward Mitchells can't even be given). I wish my daughter would take me up on my offer to set her up to sell pc's from college!!
