..for first time, i tried to use s/m pro...i had to sychronize my album first; it had approx 400 images in it..took some time, but that was okay...later today i uploaded 40 new images, and they didnt show in the s/m pro image window; again i was prompted to sychronize my files/images...i did so and the 40 appeared in the list of images...now up to +440...for the computer illiterate me, please someone explain what this is all about...i really like pro over s/mgr for ease/speed of one page listing, but am i missing something in having to deal with my images two times, i.e., upload and then sychronize...thanks for any help...myoldtoy

SmPro is great. What you just did only happens when you first start the program. It wants all your pics in the desktop file so it downloaded everything you had on Vendio to the SmPro program.

From now on, when it synchs it will just upload new pics you have recently entered. If you chose to upload your new listings at the same time then everything will be done at once. If you don't want to upload the listings now, it will still upload the pics.

Of course, you can always tell it you don't want it to synch but you have to do it at one time or another.

Another hint would be to start a new pic folder every week, month or something so the search line isn't so full.

You did make the ads at the same time you attached the pics to them in SMPro didn't you? (for the new ones)

PS: For those wondering since I posted I don't use the program anymore, I don't. But, SMPro was the best part of Vendio for me.

lindajean: THINK I GOT IT..yes, to loading at same time. hope you dont mind if i am curious as to why you no longer use it...i have used s/mgr since available...i run as few as 5, as many as 40 per week...my benchmark is "time saved," PLUS, as you say SmPro is great...especially when it can be considered one page listing...THANKS A MIL for the pointers to synchronizing...YOU HELPED FLATTEN THE CURVE! myoldtoy

I no longer use Vendio. There were some features that just didn't work for me and I found a site that had everything I needed including the ease of listing SMPro offered

Are you uploading the images on the vendio website first? If so, that is the problem.

Instead of uploading them, just click the add image button and add them to SMP. They will go into the list of pictures you have at the bottom and upload to vendio when you sync.
At the bottom left of the screen.

I'm sorry I didn't catch that when you first posted.

The ability to upload the pics with the ads is what saves so much time on SMPro

For as long as there has bee A/W-Vendio, I have been using Sales Mgr. What are the advantages of SMPro? I only list 15 to 30 auctions per week. Just to satisfy my curiosity, why would be storing 400+ pics in Vendio? I delete mine after the auction closed & I have been paid & shipped the widget.

Sanmar: Many of us list several hundred a week and more. Items that don't sell get relisted and I often save mine for the next FLD or discounted day so I have over 1,000. That total will double soon

goodmorn sanmar...first i agree 400 images represent a "big" nbr. to some... not sure what you market, but predmoninant part of my business is furniture. and i dont feel comfortable selling a piece with 1-2-3 images. that doesnt mean "3" IS NOT an adequate nbr.-for some sellers. i tend to "image" all parts of an item; the characteristics i feel important to selling..that is just the way i market my merchandise. and my images accumulate because i dont have some of the sell-thru percentage that others have. i have listed a set of chairs, 4 times during a 60 day period, before they sold. [and i have six sets of chairs' images uploaded right now].. i didnt mean this to become a dissertation, and i would like to hear how you market your merchandise-everyday is a learning process for me...thanks, myoldtoy

Hi myoldtoy. Welcome to SmPro. When you get used to it you'll love it! I am also a small volume seller and all my items are one of a kind.

I love SmPro because I absolutely love doing all my work in my Access database at my own convenience and without having to scroll around the vendio online pages to back, return , dropdown lists etc for one at a time listings. Then whenever I am ready to list stuff, I copy and paste my choice of items into an empty duplicate transfer table (2 minutes) and batch import it (1 minute). All it takes to check the settings is to doubleclick each item, survey all the setup defaults and preview by toggling between 3 convenient tabs across the top and hit OK (5 minutes).

All your templates are right there so you can pick the ways to stack or group all the images among the templates you have saved, preview just by clicking a tab on the ssame screen, and change your mind with a click of the mouse. You can save it all and work without committing to upload til whenever you want. As long as you don't sync, and you save the batch, you can come back and complete it, tune it up, change your mind, play around with how you want to display images, add more images, or whatever, or leave it temporarily in whatever stage of completion it is.

I upload my images separately either before listing (have to sync once before using them) or when I attach them as new images (they upload when you sync the listings). I also add my description separately, but that too is just personal preference. If you have everything in your table it sucks it all up, all the screens are pre-filled out, and all you have to do is click upload and all your stuff is finished in pending pre-scheduled. As a safety, do doublecheck your pending listings before they launch to be sure everything sync'd the way you wanted it and your images and layout are working the way you expected.

SmPro is one of the best ways to avoid vanishing images and images not appearing accidentally in the listings. If they all appear on the preview they will launch. If not, it's much easier to fix in SmPro--no flipping between vendio main screens and image hosting to upload forgotten images, or having to remember to never use the browser back button at the end of a long page to keep them attached. It's worth it for the image features alone. Good luck!
