In the past I have always been one to leave feedback first.
As of this weekend I decided to leave feedback last.
I didn't do this to get the upper hand on Neg & Nue leavers.
I did this to harvest more feedback!
To date I have left 1100 feedback, but only received 700 and some.
If I reaped what I sowed I'd have my red star by now.
Where I need your opinion, this is the Shipping notification I used to send:
Also when your item arrives and you have had a chance to inspect it,and everything is satisfactory please take the time to leave feed back as I did for you! If everything is not satisfactory please contact me right away so we can work the problem out together!!

What I'd like to know is does this new one sound like extortion?
Will it offend?
If so how could I reword it?
I will say this: It works, the first person I sent it to emailed me tonight saying they left feedback will I please now leave it for them!
So far it's 100%
Just thought I'd ask to see if I did the right thing, and in the right way.

Ralphie, also reciprocates with fb -- after shipping, we send a "shipping email" which includes the tracking number & the following:
"Auctions should be fun! If you have any questions about your purchase after it arrives, PLEASE contact me! I check my feedback profile at least once/day and reciprocate immediately. I'm very grateful for all the kind comments over the past 2 years!"

dads, I don't particularly like the part about after inspecting it- that sounds kinda militant to me, or almost like you are inviting someone to criticize the item - JMO)
If you just wrote something like, when you item arrives, if everything is satisfactory, please take a moment to leave feedback and it will be reciprocated for you at that time. Then, the line about if not...contact me.
It kinda sounds more like you are doing them a favor, doesn't it? lol.

I enclose a slip inside the package which references the item number and reads: THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE. IF YOU ARE PLEASED WITH THIS TRANSACTION, PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO LEAVE FEEDBACK AT EBAY. IF YOU'RE UNHAPPY FOR ANY REASON, PLEASE LET ME KNOW DIRECT SO I CAN MAKE ANY NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
THANKS AGAIN.
I also send an email when I've mailed the package which reads: "Just a quick note to let you know I rec'd your payment and sent the package off today by priority mail with insurance.
I'll be happy to exchange feedback after you've received the package.
Thanks again."
Works for me. Since 5/1/99 I've only had one person leave a negative without prior contact.
If they don't leave feedback, neither do I.
Pretty simple.

I let my buyers know that I have a program set up to automatically return feedback within an hour of it being left for me, so if they want feedback left for them, they have to leave it for me first.
I honestly don't care if they leave feedback or not. I have 2 accounts, one just went over 3000 positive and the other over 4000 positive - Having the automated program is a blessing, no worries anymore. Not only does this take far less time, not leaving feedback first in my opinion (and I used to leave feedback first) gives you more leverage as a seller if there is a problem.

A quick bit of math shows your FB responce is about 65%. A pretty good number. Mine runs 35-40% thats 2 accounts over 5 years.
I would tone the revised note down a bit. The way it is worded sounds like arm twisting. I would not leave FB for you, sorry you ticked me off!
My thoughts are FB should be freely given without attachments, or not given your or their choice. It is like a kiss, handshake, pat on the back, atta boy, or plain old thank you.
I use this one.
Thanks for your bid. If there is a problem with your order please let us know. We support the FB program and will post to your account shortly.
Regards,
Me
When I put the above note in a package I get about 80-90% responce when I don't it is maybe 40%.

I have about 81% feedback received to feedback given. I leave FB when I ship the item and so far have had no problems with this. I know as a buyer the No. 1 reason I don't leave FB is that I can't identify what I have received! Make it easy on your buyers and make sure you include the ebay item # with your shipment.
