I had a problem and was over at Vendio Services board and ran across this thread...

http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=42&thread=25034

"You may now pay your fees with PayPal, however, note that there will be a 5% service fee for payments submitted through Paypal.

Please submit the payment to ->-> [email protected] <-<-, and be sure to include the service fee as this will be deducted from your payment before it is posted to your account. Also, be sure to submit your payment well in advance of your billing day, as our system is not set up to process these payments automatically.

To calculate the amount you should pay, simply multiply your payment amount by 1.05. For example, if you were making a $25.00 payment, the amount you would submit would be $26.25 ($25.00 x 1.05)."

I'd like to know how Vendio can charge 5% surcharge for sellers paying their Vendio fees with PayPal!

That's not the point - though a good idea!

The point is sellers aren't allowed to charge a surcharge on eBay - it's PayPal rules, it's eBay rules.

If Vendio can charge a PayPal fee, why can't sellers?

It is a supposedly illegal practice.

So why are they doing it.

If it is why are they chancing it?
And if it's not why are we restricted?

It can't be alright for one and not the other!

It's either one or the other.
Either it IS or it's NOT!

Says a lot about Vendio service when they are either ignorant of or feel that they are above the rules regarding premium fees.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Why would anyone want to pay their Vendio fees with a credit card through Paypal instead of direct?

Where does it say that they fee is only if your use your credit card to pay via PayPal. I see no mention of credit cards in he announcement of their intention to charge an unathorized and forbidden surcharge.

Vendio is not connected to eBay, 5% fee is for paymentsfrom paypal, not necessarily from a cc...

It is the same as a ATM charging you for getting money out; using their service.

12-Pole: the NO-SURCHARGE rule has nada to do with credit cards -- thoust cannot charge for accepting ANY kind of PayPal payments (unless thee be a UK seller charging UK buyers)!

Q: "What is a SURCHARGE?"

A: "A surcharge is an additional fee that sellers are not allowed to charge buyers for accepting credit card payments or for accepting payments through PayPal. Surcharging is prohibited outside of the U.K. To be covered by the Seller Protection Policy, the buyer may not be surcharged."
