Another victory for everyday people that don't have a $12,000 purse.

I feel sorry for people that have money and they try illegally how to get more while we here on Vendo are just trying to make a living. Well at least I am. I don't depend on eBay but it sure does help with the every day living and the little extra's I can buy.

When you walk through k-mart and see all the lovely things that the Martha Stewart corporation makes and how many people enjoy buying and decorating with them. It's hard to believe that this could happen. But greed raises it's ugly head and this is what happens. It's kmart I feel bad for and all the troubles they have and now they have more problems. Our kmart store has really cleaned up their act and now I think this is devistating for them.

I too feel sad about all this but what Martha did was wrong. I do wonder how many do this every day and aren't caught. When I first was elected to our city council, years ago, I attended meetings before we were sworn in, just to get up to speed. One vote went opposite how I was sure it would go, and I asked an oldtimer codger who attended all the meetings (every political group has at least one of these guys!) how it could happen, and he said "easy, someone got paid off." I was really shocked. Then when I got on, an employees' union official called me (they had endorsed my opponent!) and offered me a line of credit at the bank of my choice for "any expenses you might incur in the next two years, or to pay election expenses you haven't covered yet." I told him I was all paid up and would think about his offer overnight. (Too mad to speak to him then.) Next day I wrote a letter to him, with a copy to his union board, the mayor, and the city attorney spelling out his offer and thanking him but saying I wished to enter office, and hold office, without owing any group anything at all. Shut him up good.

However, the cavalier way he offered me the money made me think that others in the past must have taken him up on it. This was in a city of 70,000; think what it must be like at higher levels of government!

So there's Martha profiting out of greed, and how many others are out there not getting caught?

Martha is worth 400 million dollars and made only $50,000.00 profit on the Iclone stock that she did insider trading on. What a shame. Will she do jail time? Maybe 4 years in a club med but maybe not.

She lost $95 million on paper today. I predict that The Diva will only get 4 months in a minimum security facility and a huge fine.
Never fight the US government or the IRS.

A friend of mine from Staten Island, NY worked at Kmart in Staten Island. When a new store was setting up to open in NYC she was sent to the city to help. Martha Stewart was there overseeing how her stock was displayed.

My friend said she was the nastiest woman she ever met.

Heard on the news she lost 183 million (on paper) today. Her stock went up a bit, after the judge threw out one of the charges, & even some early today, but was halted just before the verdict. Investers were betting she would be aquitted.

So was I.

The reason I don't feel sorry for her is that she refuses to take responsibility for her actions. If she would have come out and said something like you know, I made a major mistake. It was a spur of the moment thing, I did not think this through, and I was wrong - She would have been fined, maybe forced to step down from her company (which happened anyway) and that would have been that. I'm sick and tired of guilty people refusing to take any sort of responsibility. I know she will get club fed, but at least she is getting something.

Martha Stewart is a discrace. Now we have to hope for a conviction in the Jayson Williams, trial, Kobe Bryant trial, Robert Blake and Scott Peterson trials......did I forget anyone?

Yea, Mitch, exactly my thought. Everybody thinks O.J. was guilty, but what if a male relative of his did it? Could of happened. Police are trained to develope a theory and prove OR dis-prove it. Too many times the facts get 'adjusted' to 'prove' the theorizer right.

I just did a keyword search Martha Stewart on Ebay 1315 items, and some have bids and some do not, some are going for very nice prices. They even have Martha Stewart living in jail t-shirts. Hope I can make the link clickable.
